Steam locomotive EP 1000 525.101. At the demonstration event in Hodonin, South Moravia. This locomotive is a real unique, because only one piece was built.

The whole event attracted a lot of interest, a lot of people gathered here. Also because until the exemption from the new safety regulations is resolved, similar events will not be able to be held. Of course, these machines lack the new ETCS safety system.Our legislators forgot to include an exemption in the law, so we will only be able to see similar machines statically in railway museums.

Personally, I admire these machines and the people who can operate them. They are often made up of thousands of components and the operator must know them all. I myself rode a locomotive like this several times as a child. One of my uncles used to ride them, and whenever there was a chance he would pick me up in the cab in Strážnice and give me a ride to my grandfather in Veselí nad Moravou. It's an unforgettable memory of my childhood.
