Mother’s Birthday Celebration at Kababjees with a Sea View

March 6th is my Mother’s birthday, and our whole family always celebrates this day with great joy. And why not? It’s a special day of our beloved mother! This time, her birthday fell in Ramadan, so an Iftar outing was a must. I won’t mention which birthday it was because, for me, she is still and will always be Sweet 16! Happy Birthday to her!

On March 6th, we had Iftar at home. The special thing was that my elder brother came with his family and brought a gift. But the most amazing part was that my Father, despite fasting, made an incredible cake! Words aren’t enough to describe how good it was. He made a two-in-one cake,a chocolate cake at the base (since I and some family members love chocolate) and a heart-shaped pineapple cake on top. Sister-in-Law decorated it beautifully and wrote Happy Birthday Ammi. The cake was delicious! Everyone was happy, and we all enjoyed Iftar together, followed by the cake-cutting ceremony. I couldn’t stay long because I had night duty, so I had to leave for work quickly.

Next day during sehri, we decided that we should have an Iftar outing for Mother’s birthday. As always, finding a restaurant became my responsibility, so I started searching for the best deals. I finalized a Chinese restaurant called China Castle because my brother was craving Chinese food. But at the last moment, my mind, as usual, came up with a twist! Instead of just going out for dinner, why not turn it into a full outing? And what better place than the sea? It had been a long time since we last visited the seaside, and the kids would love it too!

So, I started looking for restaurants at Do Darya (a famous seaside dining spot). After checking my debit card discounts, I finalized Kababjees. The restaurants at the seaside are generally expensive, and rightly so,they offer a luxurious setting, amazing views, and great food. But since we don’t go there often, special days should be celebrated in a special way! I also booked a 7-seater rent-a-car so we could all travel together, making the experience even more fun.

Honestly, last-minute plans often turn out the best! In my experience, pre-planned events sometimes have unexpected issues.

I made a reservation at Kababjees for March 7th. Let me tell you about this place,it’s one of the biggest food chains in Pakistan, maybe the biggest! Their food and quality are top-notch, and it’s a well-established brand.

We reached Kababjees around 5 PM,probably their first customers that day! Their buffet is quite famous, costing around $15 per person, but we didn’t opt for it. Why pay extra when you can’t eat much during Iftar? Instead, à la carte was the smarter choice, where we could order exactly what we wanted. (No offense to buffet lovers!)

Our seating area was on the upper deck, giving us a clear sea view. The sun was shining brightly on us, but the view of the sea made it all worth it.

The kids were fascinated by the ocean, watching the waves, the birds flying, and boats passing by. Each of them was lost in their own thoughts, probably imagining all sorts of things. Watching them enjoy the moment made us even happier!

Before Iftar, I asked the staff to serve our main food along with sharbat and dates so that we could eat properly right after breaking the fast. (Otherwise, if you fill up on snacks like pakoras, you can’t enjoy the main course.)

The Moment was truly memorable and heartwarming, having Iftar by the sea, surrounded by loved ones.
The food arrived right on time, and we started eating immediately after Iftar.

American Chicken Steak , Served piping hot, exactly as expected, and full of flavor!
Chowmein , Didn’t look very appealing at first, but once my brother tasted it, he said “Wow! This is amazing!”
Paneer Reshmi Handi , Looked delicious and tasted even better! It was a hit!
Reshmi Kababs for my mother , She loved them and gave positive feedback.
We all ate together and had a fantastic time.

As the sun set, the restaurant lights created a beautiful ambiance. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff was friendly and cooperative. Everything felt just right.

My Mother’s birthday turned into a memorable Iftar party, and it was truly a perfect celebration. The sea view was mesmerizing, you could sit there for hours, just watching the waves.

The restaurant was beautifully decorated, so we took some lovely family pictures with the kids before heading home.

That’s how we celebrated Mother’s Birthday 2025! Hope you all enjoyed seeing the pictures!
