Look at this man. What a bloody legend. He worked for ten days straight to get to this point - the engine is finally out of the Series 2A engine.

Not everyone likes these 6 pot engines, but they do have a bit of a cult following and some people really love them, so we're excited about it. But look how big the bloody thing is! The good news, however, is that it's got a genuine 56 k on the clock - that's just remarkable. So very little will have to be done to it, though Jamie thinks putting a different manifold on it might help it get better fuel economy. All that experimentation can happen once the engine is back in though and we're road worthy, which we aim to be by mid year. At this rate, maybe sooner!

The chassis also is ready to go to the sandblasters today, where it will get a coat of zinc paint before Jamie paints it black. I imagine it'll take a few weeks to get both axels all shiny and the springs either repainted and reconstructed or new springs in.

In exciting news, we've been accepted as ambassadors for Senor Barbo, a Spanish company based in Hong Kong who do canvas hood tops and beautiful wooden steering wheels, seat covers and door cards. We've ordered the cards, the tops and the seat covers in a chocolate brown - the seat covers will cover the original seats. We've also asked for orange stitching on the seat covers and the door cards will look really vintage retro against the brown.
