Are We Really Free? Unmasking The State and Defining True Liberty | Off Grid Agorist Podcast

Have you ever stopped to consider exactly what the state is? Is it possible the state isn't what you think it is or what you've been taught it is?
As a definition, the best one I've ever seen is this one by Max Weber.
The state is a community of people who have successfully claimed the legitimate use of force within a given geographic territory.
All things the government does stem from the perceived authority and the monopoly of violence we, as the population, allow it to have. None of the injustice committed by government could be possible without this well orchestrated belief in the authority of government.
Listen to the podcast here.
I say well orchestrated because it is a belief that has been drilled into us since childhood. It has been a 170 year campaign (public education) to indoctrinate young minds into a belief that the state is where authority resides regardless of what founding documents might say on the subject of authority and sovereignty and regardless of the natural inclination that you rule yourself.
People have an inherent notion in them that they are the master of their own lives and that as long as they aren't hurting another person, they should have the autonomy to make all decisions related to themselves. This natural state must be overcome in some way in order for there to be a state. In our past, this has been done in different ways. Local warlords used brute strength.
Monarchs used religious claims that granted them the right to rule. Now, democracies use a twisted view of consent to convince people they have elected to be ruled by an organization called government.
At what point did you consent? When was it that you stood up and said, “Yes, I would like to be ruled by the whims and edicts of people who have been 'elected' by 51% of the population.”, most of which you don't know and will never know. Do you recall the day you gave your consent or do you just have this feeling that it has always been the case that your consent was there somewhere in the ethos like a some sort of patriotic agreement between you and this organization you call the United States.
Is it possible that this organization who claims to rule you, who treats you like a child, who tells you that you aren't smart enough to govern your own affairs has scammed you into this belief in authority?
Yes, government is a real thing in the sense that it contains buildings, people, monuments, etc.., but it really only exists on paper and in your mind as a real thing. Government only exists because of the belief in government. If all government employs decided to quit their job then government would no longer exist. The buildings and monuments and such would still be there, but what meaning would they have other than a relic of a past belief.
