To be... or not to be! This is the question ... in Splinterlands Survival Mode! How can you live to fight another day in this insane challenge, where the cards you lose are gone for the rest of the season? What's the best approach? How to be more efficient?

The Survival Mode in Splinterlands is the pinaccle of PVM, and only the strongest will endure! The game continues to dominate the blockchain gaming world, blending deep strategy with the unstoppable force of decentralization. In this ever-evolving landscape, the game constantly brings fresh challenges, and the latest update is no exception—introducing Survival Mode!

Survival Mode Joins Modern & Wild! So what's the big change? The battlefield just got fiercer! Survival Mode shakes things up with a card fatigue system and no energy requirement! Every decision matters—once a card is KO’d, it’s benched until revived. Think you can outlast the competition?

Boot Up, Warriors! It’s time to put your skills to the ultimate test! Are you built like a Saiyan, have the tactical prowess of a Jedi, or the grindset of a crypto degen? Prove it!

Let's share your best strats, near-miss moments, and hard-fought victories with the community. Let’s see who reigns supreme in this endurance trial! My input is simple... if you're not a veteran... delay your entry in the arena! Let the others lose their best cards before you join the fight!

The rewards are sweet, as the Survival Mode has it's own SPS reward pool, matching those of Modern and Wild formats. The rewards are there... if you can survive long enough to claim them!

Survival Mode flips the game on its head. Forget spamming your maxed-out meta lineup—your cards are now your energy. The more you use them, the closer they get to burnout. Caution is advised!

You need to think long-term. How many copies do you really need? How deep is your collection? Time to channel your inner whale... or get rekt. But here's a little advice so you don't kill your chances on Wild Mode... disable your top cards from Survival Mode!

All the cards in a player’s collection will automatically be flagged for participation. However, this flag has no impact on transferability or utility if the player chooses not to engage in Survival Mode. Players who prefer to opt out entirely can do so without any restrictions.

For those who wish to unflag their entire collection, a "Disable all cards from Survival Mode" button will be available on the items page. Additionally, players can fine-tune their selections using filters, allowing them to flag or unflag specific cards as needed. This gives full control over which cards are available for Survival Mode while ensuring that participation remains completely optional.

PVM’s Survival Mode TL;DR:

  • Use your entire collection, but be warned—when a card falls, it stays down until revived.
  • No rentals and no cross-format play—Survival Mode is a true test of endurance!
  • All cards are auto-flagged for Survival Mode, but you can toggle this in settings.
  • New filters help manage flagged, unflagged, and cooldown cards.
  • Only Season Rentals apply, and cooldowns reset at season end.
  • Resurrected cards that survive battle stay alive!
  • Surrendering? Say goodbye to one random unit & summoner on cooldown.

My Survival Mode Experience? Pure Carnage. I jumped in and got obliterated in two games! Two summoners and twelve cards—gone. My once-mighty collection? Depleted. My leaderboard dreams? Rugged.

You can use any card from any set... but there’s a catch! When your cards go down, they’re out of commission until their cooldown is up. That means no brawls, no land use, no tournaments, no ranked play... once a card falls... they are benched everywhere.

Hit up the Battle Lobby’s Academy Panel for cooldown times by foil and rarity. Survival Mode isn’t for the faint of heart, but if you’ve got the skills and the collection, the risk is worth the rewards.

This mode isn’t just about brute force... it’s a test of endurance, planning, and maybe a little bit of pain tolerance. So, are you in? Or will your cards vanish faster than a low-cap altcoin in a bear market?

I might give it another go at season’s end. For now? I’m licking my wounds and reconsidering my life choices. Survival Mode is like staking, but with blood, sweat, and cards.

Survival Mode isn’t just a game... it’s a war of attrition. When a card falls in battle, it’s not just taking a breather... it’s benched across the entire ecosystem. That means no Survival, no Modern, no Wild, no Tournaments, no Guild Brawls...just a sad, sidelined warrior waiting for its cooldown to end.

But don’t worry, you’re not completely rug-pulled. Cards on cooldown are still tradeable, rentable, delegatable, and can even keep grinding on land. Think of it like a battle-hardened NFT which you can flip, stake, or let it chill in the wallet. However, you can’t throw it back into the arena until it’s rested.

More tips to get better? Go get some season rentals ahead of the new season and get ready to challenge the OGs! In Survival Mode, only Season Rentals are allowed, ensuring that rented cards remain available for the duration of the season.

Any cooldowns accumulated in Survival Mode will reset at the end of each season, allowing players to start fresh. However, when it comes to choosing the level of cards to play, a new level drop-down filter lets players select their preferred card levels. Keep in mind that Summoning Unit Restrictions still apply, so strategic planning is key when assembling your lineup.

What are revival potions and are they currently available? Revival potions will allow players to bypass the cooldown associated with a card's defeat in survival mode. They will be released at a later date, and were NOT part of the initial launch. What about stats? You can vew your stats alongside your modern and wild stats within your player profile.
