To not lose the vein of wanting to show you what in Rock music an old Cranky Gandalf thinks truly contains the authentic spirit, soul, feeling and sound of the 70s. And following the wave & trend of what I have published and shared with you in my last four TTT posts over the past month. Where in the last and most recent of them I affirmed that...
"Basically anything with a good keyboardist cheerfully galloping on a Hammond organ, a funky playful bassist that knows how to set the groovy pace well, a kickass guitarrist stage fright-free who knows how to get the most out of his solos with a lot of fuzzy, wah-wah and overdrive riffs and who largely dominates the slider to bring out the bluesiest sounds from his instrument, a skilled drummer who masters the drumsticks with both hands and makes your soul rumble in your chest to follow his rhythm plus the raunchy and gritty harmonica of a virtuoso appearing from time to time to accompany the swampy, inhospitable but delicious atmosphere. That my friend, that's what I say truly contains the authentic spirit, soul, feeling and sound of my dear 70s"
Today I also wanted to give you another big tablespoon of that, but in this case through a trio of young bands that are somewhat more modern and contemporary, not born in the 70s, but who in one way or another fortunately rescue that authentic spirit, soul, feeling and sound of my dear 70s. So let's hope they continue doing the splendid work they've been doing so far and keep developing even more that psychedelic, bluesy and rock style of the early 70s for many years more. Because in my opinion, I believe that's exactly what music needs these days. ¡More spirit, soul and feeling!
Hence, I hope you also enjoy this brief selection I've put together. And if possible, I hope to also encourage you to follow these young bands and support them in continuing doing what they're doing. So we can see to how many youngsters nowadays we can inject them with the true soul, spirit, heart, and feeling of the good music of the 70s. ¡Enjoy!
