Closing the Week Strong

Fridays are always a little extra hectic for us at work, and today was one of those days. Since it’s the end of the week, we try our best to close as many pending tasks as we can. The goal is simple, we don’t want to carry unnecessary stress into next week if we can avoid it.

So even though it was tiring, I actually like this mindset. Clearing the task list before the weekend makes Monday feel a little lighter. It’s our way of being kind to our future selves, and in a way, it also helps us become more productive because we are forced to focus and prioritize what really matters.

On top of that, I finally worked on my self-appraisal form. It has been sitting in my drawer for a week, quietly judging me every time I opened it. Since today was the deadline, I had no choice but to rush and finish it.

Filling it up made me pause and think about how I’ve been doing at work, what I managed to contribute, and where I still need to improve. It’s not always comfortable to evaluate yourself, but I guess it’s part of growing in our careers.

Thankfully, I managed to submit it before the cut-off. Now it’s a waiting game for my boss’s feedback. Whatever the result is, I’ll just take it as another chance to learn and do better.

One hectic Friday, one more set of tasks closed, and one more step forward.
