Here's what you need to shoot a city at night.
First, you need the city itself. A fashion photographer needs models ‒ a city photographer needs a city. Ideally, a big one. The kind with plenty to capture. Plazas and avenues packed with cars and neon signs. A place with life and energy. The lights of the metropolis...
Then again, a small Moravian town works just fine too. Christmas decorations. A river. Especially a river. A river does a lot of heavy lifting. What would these shots be without that still water reflecting all those lights back at you?




You know there's a photography contest called #aroundtheworld where nobody walks away empty-handed?
So I'm throwing my first shot from this article into the ring. Will people like it? Who knows. But you won't find out unless you try.
