Can Hive And It's DAPPs Onboard Millions?

We've Known For A Long Time That Silicon Valley Social Media Is No Good
But what do we do about it?
You and I know the answer. (pssst, It's Hive!) But there are millions of people out there suffering censorship, banning, de-boosting, etc. They just don't know what Hive has to offer.
What if people start figuring it out though? What if my marketing efforts bear fruit and every day more and more people get on Hive and more and more of them get their friends on Hive?
What if we have hundreds of thousands of people all jumping on Hive at once?
Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm Just A Caveman
Your modern world frightens and confuses me.
I don't know anything about hash rates, throughputs, staking, or witnesses. I just really like Hive and enjoy using its Dapps like LeoFinance. But I do know one thing:
It cost Twitter and Facebook millions of dollars when they experienced exponential growth.
Everything costs money. This post I'm writing has to be stored somewhere physical. The cloud is just a name. It takes servers, electricity, and other things to keep all the data we're building on Hive alive. If Hive is small, the costs are small. But what if Hive gets really really big? Can the blockchain handle the amounts of transactions that millions of simultaneous users would be making?
It's just something I worry about. I'm pretty sure someone who is more up to speed on Hive than me can assure me that Hive is able to handle immense new growth without much of a problem.
