One stress relief method I know and love so much, is laughter. You could be reeling from exhaustion in one moment, and the next moment, someone around you is cracking a joke, causing you to laugh in such a way you didn’t think you had the strength for. It’s one therapy that works like magic.

My favorite memories to this day, are hilarious moments. They are mostly times where I laughed with people around me, times where my stomach clenched from the intensity of the laughter racking through me, times where I couldn’t stop laughing even while tears rolled down my eyes.

The ability to laugh, is one of the best things to ever exist. Having a bad day? One moment of intense laughter could take your mind off of it, helping you see the situation in a different light. Suffering from exhaustion? Laughter could help you release that pent up energy you didn’t know you had accumulated, after frowning for so many hours. Just what doesn’t laughter help make better? Frustration? Heartbreak? You name it.

Laughing isn’t something one makes plans to do. It’s just one of those things that comes naturally. Simply sharing jokes with friends, and hearing them say the most outrageous things makes me laugh. People cracking jokes around me makes me laugh. Finding myself in awkward situations make me laugh. Sharing past memories, particularly the cringe ones, is enough to make me laugh. Coming across memes shared across various social media platforms, makes me laugh.

Having a good sense of humor is one of the things that helps me bond with people. I love laughing yeah, but I love laughing with my favorite people even more. Simply hearing someone laugh heartily, without any reservations, is enough reason for me to start my own bout of laughter. Being around with people who have such good sense of humor is a blessing - someone who knows what to do to make you laugh at every moment, someone who knows the right jokes to crack around you, is such a happy feeling.

Just like one of the prompts states, life is too short to worry too much. Even with challenges, there’s the need to laugh. There’s no fun in always being uptight, and denying yourself laughs. I’ve once been in situations where I got irritated at my own self because I couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled up during one of my angry episodes. And I can tell you for a fact that denying yourself laughs, is not worth it.

So, it’s not too late to decide you’re going to laugh more. If you don’t have something to laugh about or someone to share a laugh with, you can go on YouTube or TikTok to check out funny videos. Everyone deserves to laugh as long as we’re humans. So, let’s embrace that aspect of ourselves more if you’re not doing so already.
