Had a nice sleep in until 9-ish and then got up and took advantage of the showers; afterwards having some nibbles over morning coffee. Pierre finishing off Gail's date squares from The Bakery and a vegan energy ball for me. We then prepared for departure by getting rid of our garbage, topping up the water tank and disconnecting from the marina's power. Once ready we then cast off.

Sailing to Lockport, NS

Today was soo different than the previous days of the passage. The biggest difference was that the wind was finally in our favour! Blowing from the North West, there was no fighting a headwind all day. The following pic shows our tracked course in yellow. It looks as if we were motoring with the course line being so straight due to our broad reaches.

The ocean had settled down nicely as well. It was a mostly sunny day with a little more warmth in the air.

Overall, a wonderful day for sailing. We could have used some warmth but there will be time for that, in these parts, come August. 😉

Sailing from Brooklyn, NS to Lockeport, NS under a broad reach.

We found anchorage in Lockport harbour just as the sun was setting. A lovely closing to a lovely day of sailing.
