Liverpool Right Back Problems

The right-back situation at Liverpool is something that needs to be discussed more often, and I don't see why most fans don't consider it an issue. When Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool for Real Madrid, I was not in favour of the Englishman's departure, although the club made a concerted effort to convince him to stay. He had already made up his mind to leave the club. There were a lot of candidates to fill that position for Arnold at the club, and if you have been following my posts, you would have read a couple of posts about Quansah, who I felt was the natural replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Quansah didn't stay at the club as I expected as he moved to Bayern Leverkusen on a permanent deal. Liverpool made sure not to lose hold of Quansah as they put a buy-back clause into the deal with Leverkusen. Jeremine Frimpong was the first player Liverpool got over the summer window to replace Alexander Arnold's position in the team. This move didn't get much of my attention because I felt Liverpool didn't need to sign Frimpong as there was Conor Bradley and Quansah still in the team. Jeremine Frimpong is a fantastic player but I doubted he fit the style of Liverpool. The deal happened, and he joined the club before the preseason tour.

The Dutchman's start at Liverpool has not been impressive in my opinion as he has been more on the sidelines than involved in the team. Frimpong had an injury during the early start of the Premier League season which saw him out of football action for a month. After returning from injury, his form on the pitch has not been good, and I prefer Conor Bradley to start over the Dutchman, but sadly, Bradley has been out because of an injury he picked up during the match against Arsenal, and he will be out for a long time.

Liverpool currently doesn't have a right back, as Jeremine Frimpong suffered another injury, and now the club is exploring options to bring another right back, as Givairo Read, who was the first option, is currently injured, so the club is still exploring options. The January window is officially over, but there is no news yet on Liverpool signing any new players. Szoboszlai will be covering that role for the main time, as he did at the start of the season, until a solution is provided by Arne Slot and the board. Jeremine Frimpong has to get his fitness level up and improve his game performance at Liverpool.

It is his first season at a new club, so there is bound to be a little relapse, but yet again he has to pick up form because playing for a club like Liverpool requires the players to give their best for the team at all times. Hopefully, Jeremine Frimpong and Conor Bradley are recovering smoothly to join the team as soon as possible. So that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
