It is a great joy for me as a mom and dentist, to see how fast my oldest daughter Ays has grown up, she was just a baby and today she is a big girl, yesterday she lost her first temporary or milk tooth, about a week ago this tooth began to have mobility, I was a little anxious waiting for this moment since she turned 6 years old, every day I checked well her teeth to see if the replacement process had already begun and finally the day arrived. I decided that I was not going to extract it because it was my daughter, so I left the task to my sister who is also a dentist, she did it at home we did not want to take her to one of our jobs because the tooth was quite loose, she used a forcep to pull it and it came out immediately, she was very brave and we did not even need topical anesthesia, Alys was so excited that she did not even feel any pain. Then she was with her tooth all over the house, enthusiastically showing everyone the space in her mouth and that she had already taken out her first tooth, that she didn't feel anything and that she would leave it on her pillow for Mouse Peréz to bring her a prize for being so brave, besides that her tooth was very pretty and ideal for her to take with her. When the night came, she put the tooth under one of the pillows and was so anxious that she didn't want to fall asleep, I waited for her to fall asleep to fulfill one of my tasks as a mom and that is to let in her remain the illusion of believing in what can't be seen, so I took the tooth and left 1$ under the pillow while she was at ease sleeping. When she woke up the first thing she did was to check under the pillow and found her prize and ran all over the house to show it to her grandparents (my parents) she asked me: Mom, what am I going to do with this dollar? I answered: Whatever you want. She then told me: I will keep it in a piggy bank to collect them, I thought her decision was very wise, now I just have to buy one. This is how Alys said goodbye to her first milk tooth to give it to Mouse Peréz.

Es una enorme alegría para mi como mamá y odontóloga, ver como ha crecido de rápido mi hija mayor Ays hace nada era una bebé y ya hoy es toda una niña grande, ayer perdió su primer diente temporal o de leche, hace una semana aproximadamente este diente empezó a tener movilidad, yo estaba un poco ansiosa esperando este momento desde que cumplió los 6 años, todos los días revisaba bien sus dientes para ver si ya había empezado el proceso de recambio y finalmente el día llegó.
Decidí que yo no iba a extraerlo por tratarse de mi hija, así que le dejé la tarea a mi hermana que también es odontóloga, lo hizó en la casa no queríamos llevarla hasta uno de nuestros trabajos ya que el diente estaba bastante flojo, ella utilizó un forcep para halarlo y salió de inmediato, ella fue muy valiente y no necesitamos ni de anestesia tópica, Alys estaba tan entusiasmada que ni dolor sintió.
Luego estuvo con su diente por toda la casa, mostrándoles a todos con entusiasmo el espacio en su boca y que ya se había sacado su primer diente, que no sintió nada y que se lo dejaría al Ratón Peréz en su almohada para que le trajera un premio por ser tan valiente, además de que su diente estaba bien bonito e ideal para que se lo llevara consigo.
Cuando llegó la noche, acomodo el diente debajo de una de las almohadas y estaba tan ansiosa que no quería dormirse, yo espere a que se durmiera para cumplir una de mis tareas como mamá y es que dejar que en ella permanezca la ilusión de creer en lo que no se puede ver, así que me llevé el diente y dejé 1$ debajo de la almohada mientras ella estaba a gusto durmiendo.
Cuando despertó lo primero que hizó fue revisar debajo de la almohada y se encontró con su premio y salió corriendo por toda la casa a mostrárselo a sus abuelos (mis papas) me preguntó: Mamá, ¿Que haré con este dólar? Yo respondí: Lo que tu quieras. Me dijo luego: Lo guardaré en una alcancía para reunirlos, me pareció muy sabia su decisión, ahora solo tengo que comprar una.
Así fue como Alys se despidio de su primer diente de leche para entregárselo al Ratón Peréz.
