Writing a post on x, Preset Research claimed that Open AI's O3 model ended the shutdown system to prevent itself from shutting down. Ai Company Preset Research also shared its ai data analytics related to this research in its next post. It claimed that three models of Open AI, including Codex Mini, did not obey the shutdown command; o3 did not obey the command seven times out of 86 successful commands. Similarly, KDX Min did not obey the command 12 times out of 42 successful commands. These three tools have been developed by Open AI. The AI of other companies involved in this research followed the shutdown command and shut down itself as soon as the shutdown command was received after the work was completed.
