Sometimes I sit and wonder if people don’t really see what’s going on around them or they just pretend not to care. Because truth be told, our environment is crying, but most of us are deaf to it. Just take a walk around your street, look at the gutters, check the skies, see the waste everywhere, then you will understand that pollution is real and it’s getting worse. It’s scary how we are slowly killing ourselves, and yet life goes on like nothing dey happen. But deep down, we know this is not how it's suppose to be

Pollution, to me, is anything that makes our environment unhealthy or harmful, be it land, water or air. We might not see it with our naked eyes sometimes, but it’s affecting us bit by bit. I remember visiting a place in the city some months ago, and honestly, the stench alone was enough to make someone sick. People were living there like it’s normal. I couldn’t help but feel bad because those people don’t deserve to live in that kind of condition. But because they’ve gotten used to it, they no even know it’s affecting their health daily

There are different types of pollution but to me, the worst is air pollution. This one is dangerous because we all breathe in the same air and we can't even choose the type of air we want to inhale. Smoke from cars, factories, generators, burning refuse, all of them just mix together and enter our lungs without permission. That’s why you see more people nowadays complaining of chest pain, asthma, and all sort of strange illness. Air pollution na silent killer

Another one we can’t ignore is water pollution. Some communities don’t even have clean water to drink or cook with. They drink from dirty streams or wells that have been contaminated. This one alone fit cause serious diseases like cholera, typhoid and more

I feel like if we really want to put an end to pollution, we need to start from ourselves. Government get role to play, yes, but the people too need to wake up. Let’s stop throwing dirt anywhere we like. Let’s recycle, reuse, and reduce waste. Let’s teach people more about pollution in schools, churches and online. Even if we can’t fix the whole world, at least let’s start with our own community

In conclusion, pollution is not just an environmental issue, it’s a human issue. It’s affecting our health, our future, and even the planet itself. If we don’t act now, the damage might be too much to repair later. We still get time to change things, but the time to start is now
