My safest place. | LOH #207

The LOH community has never failed to give us interesting topics and ideas to write. And now, here I am, sharing my thoughts on the following question:

Where is your favorite corner or area in your home/surrounding and why do you prefer it there?

I never thought adulting could hit this way. My cravings don't only revolve around food and travel but in making our home a cozy and comfortable place to stay. It feels great to come home feeling at home after a long tiring day at work. Nothing compares to the comfort of our own home, indeed!

More than a year ago, I got promoted in my job and I have received recently a salary differential (increase) in sum. To remind myself of this milestone, I planned to realize my house project which is renovating my room, making it cozier, spacious, and homelike. So I decided to extend my room and have its roof slabbed which is costly because of the number of mixture of sand and cement to be used.

Slab in construction refers to a flat, horizontal, and typically reinforced concrete element used to form floors, ceilings, and roofs. I prefer to have the extension slabbed since the house is situated on top of a hill where strong winds are inevitable. A slabbed roof makes the home more secure. Furthermore, I planned to have a terrace on top, an overlooking spot where my eyes could celebrate the view of nature, 360 degrees full which is on its way now, as of this writing.

I had the room renovated and constructed. It lasted for almost a month and I must say, it cost a big amount of money. (Inflation is real-est.) Yet, I am happy that I could see and enjoy the fruit of my hard work.

As you can see, it is spacious already. And what's more amazing is the view from my window. Looking at this incomparable beauty of nature paves me a way to start my day right.

My room serves as my comfort place where I can put my body and heart at rest.
