[EN/ES] Glimmo is in a murky swamp

Hello! As you can see, today I’ll be coloring digitally using Ibis Paint one of my drawings from the community’s Zingtober challenge. Specifically, it’s the drawing I made on day number 4: Murky. For that day, I created a drawing of Glimmo using ink on a white sheet of paper, a drawing I really liked. Today I return to properly finish it by adding color.

¡Hola! Como pueden ver, hoy estaré coloreando en digital usando Ibis Paint uno de mis dibujos del reto de Zingtober de la comunidad. Específicamente, es el dibujo que realicé en el día número 4: Murky. Para ese día hice un dibujo de Glimmo utilizando tinta y una hoja blanca, un dibujo que me gustó mucho. Hoy regreso para culminarlo apropiadamente agregando color.

The first thing I did was clean up my traditional drawing properly, taking a photo and adjusting the white balance and blending layers. This allowed me to separate the lines from the background and have them ready to start coloring. In my traditional drawing I used several ink patterns, and I think I’ll keep them for my coloring.

Lo primero que hice fue limpiar bien mi dibujo tradicional, tomando una foto y jugando con el balance de blancos y las capas de fusión. Esto me permitió tener separadas las líneas del fondo y listas para empezar a colorear. En mi dibujo tradicional usé varias tramas de tinta y creo que las mantendré para mi coloreado.

I started by coloring the muddy swamp and the blue sky as the background.

Comencé por colorear el pantano de lodo y el cielo azul como fondo.

I also added green to the trees in the middle ground, using a dark color to achieve depth.

También agregué el verde a los árboles del plano intermedio, con un color oscuro para lograr profundidad.

I colored the leaves of the water lilies floating in the mud and the reed plants. I also took the opportunity to color the tongue of my character’s smile. I’m adding some lights and shadows along with the reflections of the light.

Coloreé las hojas de los nenúfares flotando en el lodo y las plantas de juncos. También aproveché para colorear la lengua de la sonrisa de mi personaje. Estoy agregando algunas luces y sombras junto a los reflejos de la luz.

I really liked how the water lily flower that our character is holding in his hand turned out when colored.

Me gustó mucho cómo quedó coloreada la flor de nenúfar que tiene nuestro personaje en la mano.

Finally, I’ll give color to the character and that’s it—drawing completed! It feels so good to finally see this piece with all the details, especially because it was one of my favorites from Zingtober and from the month of October. It filled me with great satisfaction. I hope to keep drawing more Holozing characters and help the community grow a little more.

Por último, le daré los colores al personaje y listo, ¡dibujo completado! Se siente muy bien ver al fin este dibujo con todos los detalles, sobre todo porque fue uno de mis favoritos del Zingtober y del mes de octubre. Me llenó de mucha satisfacción. Espero poder seguir dibujando más personajes de Holozing y ayudar a hacer crecer un poco más la comunidad.
