Sounds that surpass human perception

If you could hear sounds that is beyond human ability.

I'm talking about a technology, a real physical system built in a laboratory and now tested on humans.

A team of researchers decided to verify if a structure known as the AudioDome valued at $700,000 could reproduce sounds with such fidelity that our senses were the limit and not the technology. The AudioDome is an acoustic dome made up of dozens of speakers distributed spherically creating three-dimensional soundscapes with absurd precision. It does seem like I am describing surround sound, but from the images you can see that it is not a common one.

I'm talking about ambisonic rendering, a sound spatialization technology that goes beyond 3D headphones, a technique that creates sound fields where the sound seems to actually come from where it was recorded whether in front of you or behind your head, instead of simulating the sound only in the ears the audiodom emits sounds in real space with such high fidelity that researchers had to test whether the human brain could follow it.

A more than immersive experience.

In tests carried out by Western University in Canada, researchers simulated sounds coming from various directions and tested the limits of our auditory spatial acuity, that is, we can also perceive where a sound comes from and be surprised, the auriodome was so precise that its results equaled or exceeded the limits of human perception, simulating sound directions and distances with impressive realism.

Although the device itself no longer uses its precision in spatial reproduction, it creates a new level of controlled auditory experience, which is essential for research with auditory artificial intelligence, sound rehabilitation or training of voice recognition systems, in augmented reality environments or simulators, a system like this can feed electronic ears with 3D perception, expanding the training of personal assistant robots or advanced auditory interfaces.

In practice the technology can revolutionize areas such as military and security simulations, with sounds coming from all directions in real-time, augmented and virtual reality to create immersive sound worlds that behave like the real world.

Auditory rehabilitation, helping patients train the spatial perception of sounds in complex environments and neuroscience studies to understand how the brain organizes the soundscape around us and most interestingly by avoiding hearing aids or invasive devices, AudioDome recreates sound exactly as we perceive it in the physical world with echoes, depth and texture.

Yes, my friends, we are listening. The future, this technology shows us that the limits of human perception are not in our ears, but in the tools we use to explore it, and what do you think? Do you think that one day we will be able to perceive sounds that today are literally beyond our hearing.
