Earthquake in Peshawar – April 19, 2025

A strong earthquake of magnitude 5.9 struck parts of Pakistan today, including Peshawar, other cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Punjab. The earthquake occurred at around 11:47 AM PST and originated near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, at a depth of 94 km.

Tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and surrounding areas. People rushed out of homes and buildings in panic. Thankfully, there are no immediate reports of casualties or major damage.

This is the third earthquake in the region within a week, following earlier quakes on April 12 and April 16, indicating ongoing seismic activity in the area.

Authorities are monitoring the situation, and citizens are advised to stay alert and follow safety precautions.
