Satoshi Nakamoto introduced Bitcoin in a 2008 white paper.
Nakamoto's real name is still unknown. It is speculated Nakamoto could be one person or a group.
Until December 2010, Nakamoto was involved in the development of Bitcoin. Nakamoto mined the first Bitcoin on January 3, 2009. Nakamoto's identity may be known to the US government. The pseudonym ensures Bitcoin's decentralization.
Several have been suggested to be Nakamoto, but none have been confirmed.
