Poor Seeds Affected the quality of my garden

By now I have expected that my garden ought to be filled up with jute mallow and spinach vegetables but just take a look at tge very scanty vegetable bed
This is entirely frustrating after all the efforts and hard labour I had put in to clear the vegetable bed and now the least expected challenges comes up to affect productivity.
How difficult is it to get a good seed for planting from the market?
This is my very first time gardening at home to grow some vegetables and maybe some fruits in addition later and it seems like there is a whole lot for me to learn already about seeds, planting and all that.
The seeds that was sold to me from the market are either entire bad and can't germinate or the process of storing it has affected the germination process of the seed.
I have been entirely patient for over 3weeks to make sure that any seed that wants to germinate gets to do so before I make my final conclusions.
Here is the growth level of one Jute mallow that has germinated some 6days after planting the seeds, the bed here ought to be covered by Jute mallow plants of this height by now but I have barely a handful of them.
There are various methods of preserving seeds after harvesting them for next year harvest, my late mum and farmer has taught me some of these things. The market women that sold me these seeds must have preserved them poorly hence this has affected my garden 🏡.
I have been consistent in wetting the garden and the scent leaf and bitter leaf here are enjoying that privilege hence my effort of wetting the garden is not wasted.
But for the vegetable I need to revisit an agric store to get some quality seeds and hope that something some quality vegetables will germinate to cover up this space.
I never knew that gardening can also come with some challenges but it is a good thing to learn so that we can apply this knowledge when we go into greater productivity in the future.
