There are many communities in which people post. But I kept asking myself, why do my posts never seem to fit?.

The answer came to me in a dream. I'm too boring

No, not boring... dull.

And so, I created...

The Dull Club

Do not mistake Dull for Boring. Here, they are markedly different.

Boring:

Doom scrolling on your phone through various social media apps, watching people apply makeup or demonstrate low-energy dance trends.

Dull

Finding the intrigue, humour, and hidden layers within something which at first may seem boring.

Dullness can be fascinating. It grabs your attention. It has so much to offer, but only if you give it the time of day. Otherwise, it'll slip by you unremarkably.

What Content belongs here?

Have you ever found something you are really enthusiastic about, only to find your friend, spouse, or sibling mocks you for it, or feigns interest out of kindness/pity, hoping they can go do something else instead?

If so, put that stuff right here! If you're anything like me, you're capable of finding something worth learning in practically anything.

Dull Hobbies

For me, my passion is music. Not many people I know share this passion. However, I wouldn't post videos of me playing the guitar here. Instead, I'd show a super slow-motion capture of the wobbling of strings, or talk about why I can't get over the intricate patterns of the rare Ziricote wood of which my guitar is made.

Whatever you are passionate about, you are passionate for a reason. It's not unfounded. It's legit. If you are a part of this community, you are not only in dire need to share your love of dull things, but you are also an open mind, ready to absorb things you never thought you knew would be even the slightest bit interesting.

Dull observations

Of course, it doesn't have to be so formal and deep. You could observe, for example, that a tree looks like a particular celebrity. Perhaps you have a least favourite type of clothing such as the sock, and you want to let us know why socks suck. Maybe you observed a weird pattern in the traffic passing your window.

Dull events

Perhaps you went to a particularly dull renaissance fair. It may seem boring to you, but this is an international realm. A renaissance fair is pretty fascinating to those who have never seen one before!
