✨"When we understand and internalise that we came into this world to live and not to accumulate or possess things, life becomes simpler. It is not about filling our hands with riches, our homes with valuable objects, or our closets with expensive clothes, but rather about filling our souls with feelings and enjoying new experiences every day, because at the end of the day, it is not material things that will go with you. In other words, life is not about possessing, but about being." @nancybriti1

✨"I have learned that as long as I have inner peace, it doesn't matter if I have little or nothing in a material sense because by keeping my peace, everything else is no longer relevant. While many go into debt to pay for expensive restaurants and then brag about them on their social networks, I live peacefully with what I have. " @abisag

✨"It's the practice of constantly and consciously deciding what deserves space in one's life, irrespective of whether it's physical objects, relationships or even thoughts. This also entails asking technical questions like, “Does the array of clothes in the closet deserve that space? Or will I be more functional and decisive with fewer clothes in my closet?" @wongi

✨"I know firsthand what it's like to live in a cluttered environment. My family tends to accumulate things that they sometimes never use, but they feel comfortable having them in the corner. In general, I've always heard them use these phrases to excuse their accumulation of objects: “I'll need it someday,” “Don't throw it away, it's worth money,” “I don't know what it's for, but someday it will be useful,” “It cost money.” " @liyuxiexie

✨"Greed is what will become a reason for them to go beyond their limits and even to the extreme. Then, in the end, when everything turns out the negative way, they have a clearer view of their actions and consequences. That's when it would dawn on them that there is just a little or nothing in this life." @abdul-qudus

✨"Yesterday at home, we spent a lot of time without electricity. I was supposed to get some work done and also organise and wash clothes, but obviously I couldn't do any of those things without electricity. Although I was a little frustrated at first because I already had a mental plan of what I would do and everything else, I noticed something that I really liked, and yes, it was just yesterday that it happened to me." @jemima1996

✨"This week, we settled on our new house on the coast. Fucking cortisol response was intense. It makes my neck and shoulders tense, my jaw tight, my very cells vibrate. My logical mind knows that there is nothing to worry about. My limbic brain, however - oof. It was making me feel sick. There was just so much to do. Mum said 'one thing at a time', but how can one do that when the 'one thing' is moving house and selling a house at the same time?" @riverflows

✨"We find the picturesque setting, and the restaurant with the perfect ambience, and we’re too busy taking pictures of the food and the sights for our social media pages, that we forget why we’re there in the first place. To just be. To soak up all around us. All in the moment.

And it doesn’t just apply to dates or outings with friends and those we love. Even on solo dates and solo trips. Our moments are sacrificed on the altar of memories, and the future sacrificed at the expense of the now." @jhymi

✨"All of these didn't just happen. I didn't wake up one morning and make that decision. People and events inspired the whole thing, which has gladly changed my life, making me realise the true essence of life more simply.

Growing up, I came from a family where life was not as smooth as I desired for us, though we were still being provided for. Looking back now, I would say life was different from now, and I'm glad for those who helped me get along with most of my decisions." @princessbusayo

✨"As a young girl, I was taught at a young age that people leave at some point. And it could be because they are tired of us, or when they have found someone else that fills the space we once occupied, or it may just be that they had no choice but to leave for themselves. This experience felt like nothing at that time. I was still young, so I thought it had nothing on me, but growing up, it was all a lie I told myself just to make me happy and willing to take the next step without making too many excuses. I knew how hard things were for me at some point, but I found it hard to blame that experience; but deep down, I blamed it." @hopestylist

Some additional tips

🔸 The community encourages authors to engage and build rapport with other team members by leaving meaningful comments.

🔸 If possible, we recommend that authors try to use original photos taken by you. Photos count toward the possibility of your post being curated.

🔸 Just a reminder that the weekly #KISS Blog Ideas is presented with ideas on topics to write about and to help you to structure your blogs; they are not meant to be questionnaires for you to list information and publish.

🔸 The presentation of your blog goes a long way, and sharing aspects of your lives and your personal stories and experiences should be a lot more than a list that can be found in various places over the web.

🔸 You do not need to wait or only blog in response to the prompts provided. You're free to share any aspect of your minimalist lifestyle at any time.

Thank you for checking out the #MoreOrLessTheBest Curation Compilation presented by The Minimalist. This is the new official community account, where the weekly #KISS Blog Ideas and all community events and activities will be published.
I invite you all to get involved and share your stories about minimalism, and perhaps you would like to invite someone.
