THE ONLY LIGHT I SEE
When the world turns dark and the shadows creep,
And the city settles into it's restless sleep l,
I find my peace in the light of your face,
A beauty that time itself cannot erase
It's not just the way your laughter rings true,
Or the spark In your eyes, like a morning dew,
But the soul beneath, so steady and kind,
The rarest treasure I ever could find
They say that the heart is a wandering thing,
Always seeking a song it hasn't heard sing,
But mine is a bird that has found it's home,
With no desire or will to roam.
For why would I reach for a flicker of light,
When I hold the sun in the middle of night?
Your grace is my garden, your trust is my shield,
To no other beauty shall my heart ever yield.
In every quiet breath and every soft word,
the sweetest melody I've ever heard,
You are the anchor, the heart, and the one,
My journey is finished; my searching is done.
I was inspired to write this because of the deep sense of security and admiration I feel for my Girlfriend. In a world where people are often distracted by " the next best Thing," I realized that her unique qualities - her patience, her inner strength, and her radiance - have made my heart completely content. I want to express that my loyalty isn't just a duty , but a natural result of how much I value her. She is my " Midnight Anchor," the person who keeps me grounded and happy no matter how dark or chaotic the world becomes.
