Designing My Dream Residence: A Space To Call My Own

"Wow, that's a beautiful house. I wish I could own something like that"... I've made this statement countless times but let's go back a bit to the most recent time I said it. It was in front of an "all white" painted duplex house, in the middle of an almost secluded place, the surrounding was beautifully covered with flowers, trees and plants.

What really attracted me to the house was the natural touches, I've always loved the idea of a garden in the home or a house surrounding of flowers and fruit trees. A house that you'd feel like you're still in your house even when you're outside, a safe haven that brings me only good feelings, peace and love anytime I look at it.

Looking at the most important things I want in my dream house, it's a clear sign that I'm not in for the big mansions or extravagant houses. Maybe when I have too much money, this thought might change but I really hope I don't drift far from the essence of a home, a peaceful space to call my own, a safe space not defined by it's size.

I wanted to go on about the land size for my dream house, the colour of paintings and the roof style... All that will contribute to my dream house but they are not as important as what I'll share now about my dream house. If I am to design my own dream residence (with family of course), I want it to be so modest but beautiful inside out.

A well built duplex surrounded with trees and flowers in a quiet and peaceful area. I would want a garden spot where I can go spend time, like there would be some set items (not destroyable by rainfall or wind) that I could make use of whenever I visit the garden to spend special time.

Aside the outside the house, what will be inside my dream house is the most important for me as it is where I'll spend most of my nights and different times and feelings in especially with my family. One thing I wouldn't want in my dream home is having to stress over getting good comfort, it means, I would create my comfort.

My dream house will have good smart devices and any machine to make the house work easier, especially in keeping it clean regularly. A well designed and decorated big sitting room, bedrooms, guest rooms, gym room, study room, work room and even a play room. I want all that in my dream house and no, the house doesn't have to be so big for these to be put in place.

Putting in place beautiful paintings and memories of my family (picture frames) and being intentional about the atmosphere my house should have whenever, all that will make it my dream house. The furnitures are also what I'll be very selective about as I would want the ones to suit my house and be very comfy to relax on.

My dream house can be anywhere so long it brings me the peace, love and happy feeling I crave to have in my own space with people I love.
