Thanksgiving food

Most of my pictures from Thanksgiving are photos of my family, and while sorting through the pictures taken over the holiday weekend I found that most of the ones I'm comfortable sharing are of food!
My daughter always makes her delicious pumpkin pies from scratch. She makes a trip to the pumpkin patch and chooses the pumpkins that she knows are the sweetest and most flavorful ones for pies.

We had 3 deserts... Pie, an almond cake

My son spatchcocked the turkey and cooked it outdoors on the grill. Spatchcocking (also known as butterflying) is a method of preparing a turkey by removing the backbone so that the bird lays flat. He used a dry spice rub and everyone agreed it was the best turkey ever!

Pasta side dish-made by my daughter rin law.

Homemade hot biscuits by my daughter in law

Everyone participated in making the meal.
Broccoli and rice casserole and a baked ham were prepared by my son in law.

My daughter in law was the chief cook and made deserts, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, with sauerkraut that was simply delicious and brussel sprouts,

There were plenty of left overs for everyone to take home so that none of us have needed to cook all week!
