Un rollo de pan / A loaf of bread

Un rollo de pan fue dejado,
sobre la mesa olvidado,
está algo mordisqueado,
incompleto pero aún blando.

Dicen que era de alguien,
que empezó dieta sin decirle a nadie,
lo dejó abandonado con desaire,
y el rollo se sintió querido por nadie.

A roll of bread was left,
forgotten on the table,
it's been nibbled on,
incomplete but still soft.

They say it belonged to someone,
who started a diet without telling anyone,
left it behind with disdain,
and the roll felt loved by no one.

Aquel rollo estresado,
comenzó a girar de un lado a otro lado
poco a poco se fue desenrollando
hasta quedar aplanado.

Luego de nuevo se enrolló
y feliz se sintió,
repitió esto sin limitación
hasta que el pobre se partió.

That stressed-out roll
began to spin from side to side,
slowly unrolling itself
until it was flattened.

Then it rolled up again
and felt happy,
repeating this without limit
until the poor thing broke.

Un rollo de pan ya no era
ahora eran pedazos de masa fresca,
no pudo volver a lo que era
y evolucionó de esta manera.

Hasta que un día llego el de la dieta
y tomo un trozo sin reserva,
le gustó más que la vez primera
y se lo comió con complacencia.

A loaf of bread was no longer
now it was pieces of fresh dough,
it couldn't go back to what it was
and evolved in this way.

Until one day the dieter arrived
and took a piece without hesitation,
he liked it more than the first time
and ate it with pleasure.
