La Flor que Quería ser Libre / The Flower That Wanted to Be Free

Una abeja llega a casa
y trae una flor amarillada,
este color le encanta
y en un florero la deja ubicada,
para que el agua no le haga falta.

La abeja quiere descansar,
ella debe madrugar,
se echa a dormir con afán
y cuando más profunda está,
la flor se baja y comienza a andar.

A bee comes home
and brings a yellowish flower;
she loves this color,
and places it in a vase,
so it won’t run out of water.

The bee wants to rest,
she has to get up early,
so she falls asleep eagerly,
and just as she’s sleeping soundly,
the flower bends down and starts to walk.

Aquella flor llega hasta un árbol
que no es real, es de plástico,
se trepa en este con recato
y en la cima se ubica de inmediato
aprovechando que la abeja duerme plácido.

Cuando el animal despierta,
con agrado se despereza,
pero, su flor no encuentra
la busca y la ve cerca,
en un árbol falso que tiene en su vivienda.

That flower reaches a tree
that isn’t real,it’s made of plastic,
and climbs it modestly,
settling at the top right away,
taking advantage of the fact that the bee is sleeping peacefully.

When the bee wakes up,
it stretches with pleasure,
but it can’t find its flower;
it looks for it and sees it nearby,
on a fake tree in its home.

El animal comprende la situación
y toma a la flor con amor,
sabe que aquí no está mejor
y se la lleva sin temor,
debe dejarla donde la encontró.

Y es así como la flor regresa
a su hogar, en la pradera,
entre flores se siente contenta
es que ella no quiere ser prisionera
en un florero, aunque agua tenga.

The animal understands the situation
and takes the flower lovingly;
it knows it’s no better off here
and carries it away without fear,
it must leave it where it found it.

And that’s how the flower returns
to its home, in the meadow;
it feels happy among the other flowers,
it simply doesn’t want to be a prisoner
in a vase, even if it has water.
