If you have read my Part 1 blog, I shared about our day adventure in Whistling Dune Bay, Inner Mongolia. We tried horse riding, camel riding, a zipline, and we also took many pictures in the desert. It was such a fun day! But the trip did not end there. The evening was just as exciting, and that is what I want to share with you now.

As the sun started to go down, the sky slowly turned orange and pink. It was so beautiful to watch. The desert looked even more magical with the colors of the sunset.

I took a picture of the small cabin with the sun setting behind it, and it became one of my favorite photos from the trip. The air was cooler now, and it felt so relaxing after the hot afternoon.

Then after, people began to gather around a campfire. It felt warm and cozy to sit there. The fire crackled, and the smoke rose slowly into the air. My friends and I went near it, enjoying the moment.

Some people were singing on stage nearby. The songs were lively and made the atmosphere very cheerful. I did not know the words, but I could still enjoy the beat and the energy.

We also had fun just being together. We laughed, told small stories, and sometimes just went near quietly watching the flames. The campfire made the evening feel special, like a memory that would stay with us for a long time. I even thought, This is one of the reasons why traveling is so nice you get to experience simple but beautiful moments like this.

Of course, we didn’t forget to take more pictures. We took some by the fire, some with the cabin and sunset in the background, and some just silly photos of us making funny poses. Pictures are always a way to keep the memory alive, but what I liked most was how we were all really happy in that moment.

Then in the evening, there were more performances on stage. Some people were singing, others were dancing. It gave the night a lively feel. Everyone was clapping and enjoying it.

My friends and I joined in the fun by cheering and moving along with the music. It felt like everyone there was one big group, even though many of us were strangers.

This is the nice thing about travel you share the joy with people you don’t even know.
When the stage performance was done, we spent some more time just walking around the area. At night, the desert was quieter, but the lights around the camp made it look warm and inviting. We saw other travelers also taking pictures and enjoying themselves. My friends and I played around a little, chasing each other and laughing like kids. It felt so free, no worries, just fun.

This evening for me was when we all sat down again, this time away from the noise, and looked at the night sky. The stars were so clear and bright. It was nothing like the city sky. I felt small, but in a good way, like I was part of something bigger. We didn’t talk much at that moment, we just looked up and enjoyed the view.

By the time it got late, we were all tired from the long day, but no one wanted the night to end. The desert, the fire, the singing, the laughter all of it made the evening so special. We finally decided to rest, knowing that the next day would bring new adventures.

That’s it for my Part 2 of our Inner Mongolia Whistling Dune Bay trip. I hope you enjoyed reading about it as much as I enjoyed experiencing it. I will definitely share more travel stories soon.

luv, cath ✨
