Hey friend, you didn't even asked how was my "first practical exam"

For me as a student of Medical Laboratory Science, today represented quite an important step—the long-awaited practical examination. Awaiting for our names to be called outside the testing hall, the ambiance was tinged with hope as well as worry. The wait felt interminable, dragging on for what seemed like hours. We were standing around, exchanging anxious glances, some pacing back and forth, others silently reviewing steps in their brains. Each time the door swung and an invigilator strode out, our hearts skipped a beat.
At last, the naming of names started and we walked one by one toward the examination room. Walking in, the gravity of the situation struck me. All the essential tools were situated out in the room, and the examiners were watching closely. I knew there was no turning back as soon as I settled in, each student was given a station.
The projects were very difficult and demanded accuracy, velocity, and a good knowledge of laboratory processes. Some were minor but others called for more focus and precise performance. At first, my hands shook a little; however, as I advanced, I grew more assured. Fortune left me not by myself in this. My friends and I discovered inconspicuous means to encourage each other, despite it being a personal evaluation. A fast checking look, a quiet nod, or a calming whispered word of encouragement changed everything. From slide preparation and staining to several laboratory tests, each demanding great attention to detail, we addressed tasks. Sometimes it felt too much, particularly with the examiners closely watching us moving about. Still, we remembered that we had long prepared for this and were prepared. We were washed in relief by the time we were finished. Leaving the exam room, we found ourselves grinning. The anxiety that had paralyzed us before was now replaced with gladness and a feeling of success. Laughing at the times of panic and applauding the sections we completed perfectly, we congratulated each other.
This reminder of how far we had traveled was a practical test of our abilities. Though it's not an effortless road to being a Medical Laboratory Scientist, we showed ourselves we are able with team spirit and dedication. Today was a triumph regardless of the result.
