universe.

I’ve always been fascinated by creatures that blend nature with personality, and the moment I saw Chirpily, something sparked inside me. She’s vibrant, elegant, and cheerful, with a majestic birdlike presence that immediately made me think of how she might look as a human. I imagined her not just as a girl with feathers, but as someone who carries the spirit of a mystical forest bird—graceful, strong, and full of life.

Creating this piece was so much more than just drawing; it was an emotional journey. I wanted to bring Chirpily to life in a way that felt fresh but still true to her essence. I had fun dreaming up her colors, her clothing, even her facial expression—and I couldn’t wait to finally share it with all of you here, especially the lovely

community who inspired me from the beginning.

Siempre me han fascinado las criaturas que mezclan la naturaleza con la personalidad, y en cuanto vi a Chirpily, algo se encendió en mí. Es vibrante, elegante y alegre, con una presencia majestuosa y aviaria que de inmediato me hizo imaginar cómo se vería en forma humana. No solo la pensé como una chica con plumas, sino como alguien que lleva el espíritu de un ave mística del bosque—grácil, fuerte y llena de vida.

Crear esta obra fue mucho más que dibujar; fue una experiencia emocional. Quise darle vida a Chirpily de una forma nueva, pero sin perder su esencia original. Me divertí muchísimo imaginando sus colores, su vestimenta, incluso su expresión facial—y ya no podía esperar más para compartirla con todas ustedes, especialmente con la hermosa comunidad de
, que fue mi fuente de inspiración desde el principio.

Let’s explore the design together!
For this version of Chirpily, I imagined her as a forest sprite brought to life—radiant, playful, and a little bit mischievous. Her short, layered hair flows in green and orange tones, just like her original feathers. I gave her a leafy hair texture and a single crest-like feather at the top, as a nod to her avian lineage.

Her dress is designed to resemble layers of feathers, alternating in green and orange-red hues that mimic the wing and tail colors of the original Chirpily. The neckline and cuffs are feathery, adding softness and flow to her look. She wears fingerless gloves that look like tiny talons, and her sash is styled like a ribbon made of autumn leaves.

I wanted her face to feel alive and expressive, so I gave her big, curious eyes and a confident smile—one that says “I’m ready to fly.” She feels adventurous but graceful, like a guardian of the forest who brings joy wherever she goes.

Para esta versión de Chirpily, la imaginé como un hada del bosque hecha realidad—radiante, juguetona y un poquito traviesa. Su cabello corto y en capas fluye en tonos verdes y anaranjados, al igual que sus plumas originales. Le di una textura que recuerda a hojas, y una pluma en forma de cresta en la parte superior, como guiño a su herencia aviar.

Su vestido está diseñado como si fuera de capas de plumas, alternando colores verdes y rojo-anaranjado que imitan las alas y la cola de la Chirpily original. El escote y los puños tienen detalles plumosos, que aportan suavidad y fluidez a su apariencia. Usa guantes sin dedos que asemejan pequeñas garras, y su cinturón parece una cinta hecha de hojas otoñales.

Quería que su rostro se sintiera vivo y expresivo, así que le di ojos grandes, curiosos y una sonrisa segura—de esas que dicen “estoy lista para volar”. Tiene un aire aventurero pero elegante, como una guardiana del bosque que irradia alegría a donde va.

Process / Proceso

It all started with a sketch.
To bring the idea to life, I began with a rough sketch that captured the general pose and mood. I played around with several ideas, but I knew I wanted her to stand proud, confident, and full of energy. I refined the silhouette until I found a posture that felt both dynamic and graceful.

Todo comenzó con un boceto.
Para dar vida a la idea, empecé con un boceto suelto que capturara la pose general y el estado de ánimo. Probé varias ideas, pero sabía que quería que se viera orgullosa, segura y llena de energía. Fui refinando la silueta hasta encontrar una postura que fuera dinámica y elegante a la vez.

Then came the line art.
Using clean digital inking, I carefully traced over the sketch to define the character. I focused on flowing lines, especially in the hair and clothing, to give her a sense of movement. The crisp outline helped ground her design while still leaving room for softness.

Luego vino el delineado.
Con tinta digital limpia, tracé cuidadosamente sobre el boceto para definir al personaje. Me concentré en líneas fluidas, especialmente en el cabello y la ropa, para darle una sensación de movimiento. El contorno definido ayudó a cimentar su diseño, sin perder la suavidad.

Next was the base coloring.
This was where the fun really started! I filled in the flats with bright, saturated colors, staying faithful to Chirpily’s original palette. The balance between greens and oranges brought her to life, giving her an aura of vitality and nature.

¡Aquí fue donde comenzó la verdadera diversión! Rellené con colores planos brillantes y saturados, manteniéndome fiel a la paleta original de Chirpily. El equilibrio entre los verdes y los naranjas le dio vida, aportándole un aura de vitalidad y naturaleza.

I added shadows to enhance the depth.
Using soft shading, I brought form and volume to her body and clothing. The shadows under her skirt, between the layers of feathers, and around her face helped her pop out of the background and feel more three-dimensional.

Apliqué sombras para realzar la profundidad.
Con sombreados suaves, le di forma y volumen a su cuerpo y vestimenta. Las sombras bajo la falda, entre las capas de plumas y alrededor del rostro ayudaron a que destacara del fondo y se sintiera más tridimensional.

Highlights were added for that magical glow.
A few bright touches on her hair, eyes, and outfit made all the difference. These little sparkles brought personality and energy to the piece—just like a ray of light peeking through forest leaves.

Añadí brillos para darle un toque mágico.
Unos cuantos toques brillantes en el cabello, los ojos y la ropa marcaron la diferencia. Estos pequeños destellos aportaron personalidad y energía a la obra—como un rayo de luz filtrándose entre las hojas del bosque.

And finally, the background.
I chose a glowing autumn forest scene, full of falling red-orange leaves and tall trees. This backdrop not only complemented her colors but also gave the whole image a cozy, enchanted atmosphere.

Y por último, el fondo.
Elegí un bosque otoñal iluminado, lleno de hojas cayendo en tonos rojos y naranjas, y árboles altos. Este escenario no solo complementó sus colores, sino que le dio a toda la imagen una atmósfera cálida y encantada.

This piece was an absolute joy to create.
From the first sketch to the final brushstroke, I poured my heart into this drawing. Chirpily’s joyful essence inspired every step, and it made me feel so connected to the character. I hope you enjoyed seeing her through my eyes as much as I enjoyed bringing her to life.
