Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! We are in the middle of a new season of Splinterlands and I'm currently at Silver I League. My battles continue as I keep grinding to earn SPS and Glints. There are also some exciting updates in the game as Yaba's Pickle is already released.

Yaba's Pickle Release

I have 15,000 SPS which qualified me to buy fifteen copies of Yaba's Pickle.

I swapped some of my liquid Hive to DEC and also bought Midnight Potions to increase my chances of getting a Black Foil.

I'm not so lucky to get a Black Foil but got two Gold Foils instead. This is still a lucky pull from my point of view. At least I got two level three already and can already upgrade to level four.

Current Guild Brawl

We are in the middle of a Brawl right now with our guild in fifth place. My own contributions are not so great winning two battles and losing three. Hopefully I can improve my win rate with the remaining battles and help my guild to a higher rank.

Card Prices

I'm still on the lookout for some good deals in the market but it seems card prices are on the rise. Archons are still expensive and the epic cards I bought last week for around ninety cents are now selling above a dollar. My budget this week went to Yaba's Pickle so next week I'll keep checking for great card deals.

Featured Battles

Of course, battling in Splinterlands is fun and my favorite activity aside from checking the card market.

Battle 1 - New Reckless + Painforge Combo

The Dragon archon is one I'd like to level up to at least four. It makes sense since I can use it in all splinters and it would allow me to unleash Gold level abilities of my cards. In this battle, I used my new Reckless + Painforge combo of Songale and Aranduriel. I also used my two strong Dragon reward cards Night Reaper and Syrenth. Another card I'd like to level up is my Leolin Sifu, one of the strong epic cards.

My opponent has a higher level archon and chose the Light splinter. It's a combo I used myself consisting of a strong tank, a healer and an armor repairer. Throw in Olivia the Brook and her mimic ability and this is similar to the combination I used in the Chaos Legion era.

My damage dealers went to work in the enemy frontline while Aranduriel was hitting the rear. She was also getting buffed by Songale's Reckless ability. Eventually the enemy disposed of Songale but left Aranduriel with an insane six ranged attack. Night Reaper was attacking the front while Aranduriel dealt with the enemy rear units. It was a close fight but Aranduriel's attack on the enemy healer led to my win.

Battle 2 - Suicide Squad!

I call this combo the Suicide Squad. It has two units with Electrified on the team, Shock Trooper and Water Diviner. This is a combo I experiment with from time to time with not much success. It's a fun and exciting combo though especially in low mana battles. It's a gamble on who will my Electrified units kill first, the opponent or their own team!

My opponent chose the Death team in this low mana battle. I noted that my units have more damage potential giving me a chance to win. There's the disadvantage of Electrified though which made my victory uncertain. In the end, it was a close victory with each of us having one unit left and mine only had one health. I guess I won't be trying this combo any time soon!

Final Thoughts

My deck building and grinding continues. It's part of the fun to see my deck getting stronger each time I upgrade them and test new combos in battle. I'm still not sure how I'll use Yaba's Pickle because I don't have a unit with Weapons Training ability yet. It could probably play as tank in some cases but I won't force it to my team yet if it's not optimal to use.
