My last costume did not necessarily have to be with sequins or glitter, so I put a crocheted 'ERI' made by my mother. This is not a possibility to recycle in this murga, so I have to embroider a nice one.

All of a sudden I saw that I could do it because of the following, my best friend took apart his costume and gave me all the appliqués he had. Besides the detail that my friend is a bit dark in musical tastes, his costume was totally colorful so his black and white appliqués looked great. In the opposite case with me, my suit will be black so I want to add color to it. I kept 3 appliqués and have given the leftovers to the murga to help any of my friends who don't have enough decoration for their costume.

De golpe vi que podía hacerlo por lo siguiente, mi mejor amigo desarmó su traje y me regaló todos los apliques que tenía. Además del detalle de que mi amigo es algo dark en gustos musicales, su traje era totalmente colorido entonces sus apliques en negro y blanco quedaban genial. Caso inverso conmigo, mi traje será negro entonces quiero ponerle color. Me quedé con 3 apliques y he regalado los sobrantes a la murga para ayudar a cualquier compañero que no tenga suficiente decoración para su traje.

This embroidery will be in one piece, as names are usually made of letters independent of themselves. My friend's example is here, his name is Juan, but they call him Parca, and he had all the letters done. What I did as always was to start with the black borders, as I had already made designs to see which one looked better and would be more colorful in my costume, I decided on this one, Mario Bros. style, quite cartoonish.

Una lentejuela y una mostacilla, y coloco para ver si queda acorde. Luego realizo la costura para fijar ambas piezas a mi artículo, de esta manera logro corregir si deseo algún milímetro de más.

I continue like this, usually until I run out of thread and have to go back to work after spinning about a meter of thread. I complete my work, this time using black thread. And the violet shadows, which I was a little afraid that the sequins wouldn't fit, I had to try and fix them in different ways. A bit messy, I know. But manual work is sometimes like that.

Y a las sombras en color violeta, que me daba un poco de miedo que las lentejuelas no cupiesen, lo tuve que ir probando y fijando de distintas maneras. Un poco desordenado, lo sé. Pero el trabajo manual a veces es así.

Once the colors are finished, I make the filling white so that it stands out from the background. I also show you this test, although it is an old suit that I already showed you, here I made my first test to see if I am missing many or few spaces to fill. So far, more or less.

Finalizada la parte de colores, el relleno lo hago blanco para que resalte del fondo. Les muestro también esta prueba, si bien es un traje viejo que ya les mostré, aquí hice mi primera prueba para ver si me están faltando muchos o pocos espacios por llenar. Así voy hasta ahora, más o menos.

And last but not least let me show you this, I managed to try on the old pants and they still fit pretty well. What I'm most happy about is that I can now start making my own pant mold and next week I'll be shopping to get started on everything.

Y por último detalle déjenme mostrar esto, he conseguido probarme el pantalón viejo y me queda bastante bien aún. Lo que más me alegra de esto es que ya puedo comenzar a hacer mi propio molde de pantalón y ya la semana que viene realizar compras para comenzar con todo.

I was just thinking the other day that I have two months left, all of October and all of November, because in December we are having a birthday corso and I want to have my costume ready. This is equivalent to wanting to go out in carnival and start the costume in December, let's say, going against the clock.

Justamente pensaba el otro día que me quedan dos meses, todo octubre y todo noviembre, porque en diciembre haremos un corso de festejo de cumpleaños y quiero tener mi traje listo. Esto equivale a querer salir en carnaval y comenzar el traje en diciembre, digamos, ir en contra del reloj.

So far so nice and as always I am grateful to everyone and especially to the community.
