On Matters of Stability and Light

I set up the tripod on top of the wall above the beach. A tripod helps stabilize the image for crisper shots, but they're pain in the butt to lug around. I got a portable one, which is versatile and easy to deploy in the field. I still have to touch the camera because my wifi-phone connection hasn't been working properly. A connection would allow me to take the snap with the phone interface and thus avoid touching the camera.

The telephoto lens is fun to play with, but I have to zoom in to make it work, or you get the effect seen on the above shot.
I like how this one turned out. The colours just pop! It was a cool cloudy day as it has been for weeks. This soft autumn light is not great for lifting the mood, but it's great for vibrant photography without the harsh glare of sunlight. At least that's what I tell myself 😆
