A short walk in the first day of 2026

This year, New Year's Eve brought with it a real winter...
On December 31st, a crazy snowfall began, the likes of which I haven't seen in a long time. The snow was so thick and fluffy that it was even scary. After several waves of snowfall, the sun finally came out from behind the clouds and it was so beautiful!
I had planned to celebrate New Year's Eve with friends, but unfortunately their daughter got sick in the city and they had to go to her. We sat together for a while over a glass of wine to say goodbye to the old year...
And I was left alone. Although not completely alone, but in the company of furry friends. The mood was calm and quite positive.
Do you like such a winter?

Before and after snowfall...

So the next day I went for a walk around my native surroundings. It was a kind of farewell to the village, because I was already planning to move to the city for the winter.
Unfortunately, there was no sun that day. When I went out, I felt an unreal magical silence around. Complete desertedness.
In the summer there are more people here. And now the few locals have hidden in warm houses.
It seemed that this world around was only mine.

The snow was deep. And my shoes (rubber boots) were not at all suitable for the weather, because due to the warm winter, more insulated shoes remained in the city. So I had to rest periodically.
Therefore, my plan to dive into the forest and climb the hill did not come true...
But I walked a little along the field road. The calm frozen landscape, as if from a painting by a minimalist artist, and the monotonous crunch of snow put me in a philosophical mood. I wanted to thank the Universe for these more than six months in a paradise, far from the hustle and bustle.
I want to do more of something useful in the city. To deserve a return to paradise.

So, this is time to say Goodbye to my native forests and fields.
