Hello BayaniHive fam! I hope everyone is having a joyful start to the year. Today, I want to share a simple but flavorful story about our lunch earlier, because sometimes, the little things reflect the heart of Filipino life and family.

My boyfriend cooked fried fish for our lunch today. The inspiration came from a thoughtful New Year gift—his cousin gave him a bottle of chili-garlic vinegar. And as we all know, vinegar is the perfect partner for crispy fried fish, but when it’s chili-garlic, it adds that extra kick of spice and aroma that makes the meal unforgettable.

So, we decided to make it our meal: fried fish dipped in chili-garlic vinegar, paired with plain rice and a refreshing cold Coke. It wasn’t a grand feast, but it was delicious, comforting, and full of flavor.

Meals like this remind me of the Filipino way of finding joy in simple food, especially when shared with loved ones. It’s not about extravagance. It’s about togetherness, gratitude, and appreciating what we have.
