An Afternoon of Coffee and Laughter
It is always nice to receive visits, our house is perceived as a sociable place where everyone wants to be, as we are always available for family and friends. The trust we give to everyone makes them have a good time, on weekends we always have surprises and without warning. My husband and I enjoy the visits, as friends are very close and family is very dear.
This Sunday we received our nieces who shared a lot of time with us, after a delicious lunch and very pleasant conversations. We decided to go to the cafe, they brought me a coffee that I had not tried before. It was amazing because I was already low on coffee and we had to buy it, while we chatted. We remembered the passion that the whole family has for coffee, since we were very young we started with the guarapo, then the more adolescent ones, the coffee with milk, then the negrito, which is the most demanded, the custom comes from our grandparents and much further back since 1784, when some Jesuit missionaries settled in Venezuela and brought some coffee seeds from Brazil.
When we have special guests, it is always customary to serve coffee, since it is a beverage that is part of our culture. It has also become customary to accompany it with cookies or sweet bread, so that for anyone who visits our home there is always time for a coffee.
Between laughter and joy I enjoy my afternoon with a good coffee and a beautiful company. It is gratifying when the family seeks space to get closer and strengthen relationships because they are feelings that unite us for life, despite the circumstances that come our way in life. It has been a pleasure, friends, coffee lovers, to greet you again.
