City over Village

If security and money weren't an issue, I would choose to live in the city rather than in the village (rural area).

Why?
I have spent a good number of the years I’ve lived on this earth in rural areas, and I have always longed to experience city life. Sometimes I scroll through the internet and get a bit jealous of how city people are entitled to so many things—the privileges and opportunities they enjoy.
Many years ago, while I was still living in the village, a friend of mine who relocated to the city from our village posted photos on Facebook of himself with Nigerian Super Eagles players after they had just finished a match. The pictures showed him with top players like Ndidi, Iwobi, and others. That’s the kind of opportunity city life gives you, because you would never see these guys come down to play in the village since the villages have no stadiums to host international matches.
It’s just like how South African cities hosted world-class players during the 2010 World Cup, and the people in those cities had some of their dreams fulfilled by seeing, live, some of the gods of football.
“Oh! Life is not all about meeting celebrities.”
In case that’s how it sounds to you—well, that’s your perspective. As for me, I would love to enjoy the privileges that city people enjoy, such as having fun seeing celebrities we adore.
Also, I feel the city enjoys more social amenities compared to what the rural areas get. Even if there is excess money, must one always travel to the city from the village to receive proper medical treatment with good facilities when one is sick? What if an accident occurs along the way? Another of these amenities is electricity. I know that there are some rural areas that enjoy steady power supply, but from what I’ve seen, electricity distribution is more focused in the cities than in the villages.
Even if there is money, I don’t want to rely on running generators and always spending on fuel for something I’m entitled to enjoy at a very low cost if the government simply supplied it. So yes, living in the city is for me.
Should I talk about schools? Come on—you can’t compare the schools in the villages with those in the cities. I would love to have my children enrolled in the best schools, and you definitely can’t find those in the village, or can you?
The only thing that would have made me love village life is the access to fresher foods, but I can get that in the cities too. I only need to find a steady supplier who will bring me food items fresh as they are transported from the villages.
Since security issues are not to be considered here, that means I wouldn’t need to worry about that. But come to think of it, depending on the insecurity level in a particular country, the cities are sometimes even safer. Anyway, I don’t want to drag this, so let me stop here.
Thanks for reading.
