This review of the Core 9-Person Instant Cabin Tent looks at its performance in both light and heavy rain. The seams of the tent have been taped, except for the vent seam and the mesh at the top of the tent. During light rain, the tent stayed completely dry, but the windows and doors had to be zipped completely shut. During heavy rain, the windows and doors were soaked from top to bottom, and the rainfly was too small to offer much protection. There was some leaking through the un-taped seam between the flooring and the green tent fabric, and the window latch was soaked through. The top gray fabric stayed dry, but the yellow fabric at the bottom was slightly damp. The tent held up decently over the 1-hour heavy rain test, and with some Gear Aid sealant, it should be able to stand up to a couple of hours of heavy rain with no leaks. The thoughtful details of the tent, like the two vents and the rain collar on the T-door, were also appreciated.
