The Anker 727 Charging Station and Baseus PowerCombo 100W are power strip adapters that were compared for their power delivery and output performances. The Anker model has a unique pop-up AC outlet design and a proprietary power cord, while the Baseus has unique features such as AC power sockets situated on opposite sides and offers better power quality. However, Anker's thin form factor comes at a cost, as it performed poorly in terms of power quality, constantly renegotiating power delivery, and presenting a lack of power factor correction. Baseus, on the other hand, rather impressed but fell short in terms of idle power consumption, failing to deliver on the efficiency levels they promised.
Despite having similar weights and dimensions, the adapters performed differently on multiple levels. The Anker 727 is a disappointment with its poor power quality, lack of standard power cord, and possible future issue with the pop-up plug design. It scores high in design with a button LED light, but falls drastically short in performance. The Baseus PowerCombo offers a much better performance with its stable power delivery and improved power quality. Its efficiency isn’t perfect, and it lacks universal voltage input- a common feature in power strips. If one absolutely needed such an adapter, the Baseus would be the better option despite its own drawbacks.
