In this comparative review, three mini chainsaws, namely the Stihl GTA 26, the Milwaukee M12 FHS Fuel pruning saw and the Jamal M8844 from Amazon are put to the test. Each of these cutters demonstrated distinct strengths and weaknesses. The Stihl GTA 26, with a bar length of 10 centimeters and weighing in at 1.8 kilograms, received the highest praise for its smooth cuts and ergonomic design, although it does require manual oil application on the chain. The other contender, the Milwaukee M12 FHS Fuel pruning saw, although heavier and slightly more jagged in cutting, impressed with its on-board oil tank and exceptional power. A noteworthy feature of the latter is its compatibility with other tools in the Milwaukee range, increasing its cost-effectiveness for existing users.
The Jamal M8844 was acknowledged as the cheapest and lightest option, yet its performance was described as unimpressive due to high vibration and choppy cuts. Its 20-volt battery was also criticized for lacking charging ease, requiring to be charged independently rather than on a charger. In the final analysis, regardless of model preference, it was agreed that all the mini chainsaws were a more efficient and safer alternative for pruning small branches than traditional hand saws or larger chainsaws. It's clear that choices would be dependent on individual needs for power, cost, and usability.
