Bee & Ella's Adventures - A Happy Hour Treat (w/short story) | LET'S MAKE A COLLAGE: ROUND #103
4 comments

Hello everyone and welcome back to Round #103 of the Let's Make a Collage weekly contest. For this week, members are presented with an awesome landscape with farm animals with which to create themes for our collages. This should be an interesting collage project. I've decided to attempt two different collages, with one theme: new adventures.
To create the settings for both, I started with the photograph provided by @shaka in his contest post:

Bee and Ella sat grazing in the pasture. Looking out over the hills behind them, Bee knew the time had come. She couldn't shake those thoughts Kyle told her about life beyond the pasture. Hesitant to tell her sister, Ella kept quiet. But the yearning persisted.
Always one to wander the farthest from the herd, Bee gazed lovingly toward the hazy sky touching the top of the hillside. That day was the day when longing became reality. There has to be more to life! she exclaimed to Ella. Upon hearing Bee's wild speculations about the other side of the hill, Ella was speechless.
"Steady there, Ella. If you fell, I'll be hard pressed to get you back on your feet." Easily convinced by Bee, Ella regained her composure and accepted the fact they were going on an adventure. She didn't tell her sister that she often wondered what lies the other side of the hill.
They didn't want to delay. Quick planning on the part of Bee saw them wandering away from the herd in the opposite direction. The hissing sound of the steam engine took Ella by surprise. Bee held her hoof to prevent her from tumbling.
It's just a train, Ella. Kyle told me about it. And it's our ticket to adventure."
Ella composed herself enough to stand in line for pickup. The final departure whistle blew. Ella was puzzled. The remainder of the herd kept grazing as if the sound eluded them.
"Don't forget the camera, Bee, Ella shouted. The girls won't believe it!"

To create the collage, I uploaded both the contest photo and all other images into Canva. I utilize my Annual Pro Membership Subscription for the various tools available such as background removal, resizing, and filtering.

Thanks to the members of LMAC for their amazing images. They fit perfectly within my lounge theme.

My second theme finds Bee and her sister, Ella, have returned from their exotic beach vacation. Upon their return, they held a cocktail hour displaying their travels.
After their first adventures in paradise, they decided to explore what lies above as they looked to the stars. Might as well see what's up there too, they thought. By now, Ella was on board with whatever Bee suggested. She'd had the time of her life on vacation from the pasture.
But the world above the clouds is completely different from the beach, Ella reasoned. It had to be. However, she agreed with Bee that they book a weekend bed and breakfast.
Excitement stirred as departure day arrived. Ella stopped for a moment and looked back, wondering whether she's made the right decision. She let out a hearty moo, then proceeded. After all, she did want an adventure, she reasoned. They both continued until they found themselves several few steps ahead and gasped in awe of what they saw.

To create my second theme, I located the perfect background to serve as the opposite scene the two vacationers would encounter once they left their idyllic pasture. The dark and mysterious lodgings required a haunting background.
I again uploaded both the contest photo and all other images into Canva to utilize my Annual Pro Membership Subscription.
