[Last time...]

”Stick him in a barrel with a hosepipe on him,
Stick him in a barrel with a hosepipe on him,
Stick him in a barrel with a hosepipe on him,
Early in the morning!

That's what we do with a drunken sailor,
That's what we do with a drunken sailor,
That's what we do with a drunken sailor,
Early in the morning!”

"Hip-Hip! Hoot!"

[On the river Niagara…early morning…]

Evening.2.jpg

In the early morning light, the frigate Silverton tugged on its anchor line as the river flowed past it on both sides. On the main deck, sailors were chatting and waiting for the first orders of the day…

[Down below…in the galley…]

“The year is almost over. I remember when I joined the ship, it's the best decision I've ever made. You and my colleagues make my life so much more enjoyable!” Cockpit Mate Lupega said as he took a sip of hot coffee.

Lupega.8..jpg

“We’re all glad you made it back Lupega…” Commander Kerrislravenhill replied as she bit off a chunk of plain, “Next year, I'm thinking some place warn, tropical and Scottish!”

“Haha! Merry Christmas to that! !pimp...” Warrant Officer Trumpman added in a rare comment, “Who knows where the Keptin plans to take us next year!”

Just then, Commander Galligan walked in and before the other officers could rise and salute he said, “At ease! Listen up men...the Keptin will be coming back up to the bridge this morning, against all advise from Hack. I want the decks clean and orderly…”

“Aye Sairrr!” “Aye, aye!” “Aye Commander!”

[Seneca Village…two miles south…]

“The great ship as very few men!” (Translated)…The head warrior reported.

Indian-5.a.jpg

“Hmmm, perhaps they are not here for war…” The Chief pondered, “How few?”
Indian-3a.jpg

“Ten…maybe twelve men we could count.” The warrior inaccurately reckoned.
“But the great ships have inner spaces?” The chief rightly corrected.
“We only counted ten or twelve…should we gather a war party?”

The chief pursed his lips and thought. If it was true that there were so few men on the great ship, what threat could they mount to the village?

“No...let us wait. We will watch and see what comes!”
