Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Avina of the Wolf can make a strong monster hard to kill

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because I used Avina of the Wolf.
Featured cards
Avina of the Wolf is an Life summoner that costs 5 mana. This card has the ability to give two ally monsters +2 speed or heal on an ally unit. I didn't use this card too much before the changes to modern because the level advantage seemed to be too large, but now that Modern no longer has Chaos Legion, I find this card very useful. The extra heal can make a card very powerful.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Counterspell and Beef Cakes. This means that only monsters with a health of 5 or more can be used in this fight, and every monster gains the magic reflect ability. There is also 21 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for earth.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Avina of the Wolf | 5 | Summoner | +2 speed or heal |
Mantaroth | 11 | 1st | Armored Strike and Shield |
Meriput Magician | 5 | 2nd | Tank Heal |
Total Mana: | 21 |
I use Avina of the Wolf for the heal on my tank. In this fight, I only have two monsters due to the low mana cap and that I am using a strong tank. These two monsters are Mantaroth as my tank with shield and armored strike, and Meriput Magician for the tank heal ability.
My strategy is to rely on my summoner's heals to make my Mantaroth outlast my opponent. The Meriput Magician is a magic monster so damage will get reflected at it, but I just want to take out a few monsters before my opponent can take it out. If I do, I can limit the damage that I take, and I should be able to outlast my opponent. My Mantaroth will heal 3 per turn normally, but when Meriput is alive, it will heal 6.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match is my win. The shield ability added to my tank will be too much for my opponent to overcome. There are no magic monsters and the total damage that my opponent can do is limited. I am worried about the Slade in the 2nd spot though as this fight could be quite long.
Round 3
My opponent lost one monster, but at this point, my opponent can't do much to me as I heal all the damage.
I ended up winning this match later due to fatigue, as I expected.
Conclusion
The battle this time worked out as I planned. Using Avina of the Wolf worked out well, as it made my tank unkillable. So, using a low amount of monsters did not hurt me in this match, as the mana cap was quite low. I wasn't expecting Commander Slade, but I did end up in the end due to fatigue. My opponent couldn't damage me, so it was just a matter of time before he went down. The double heal was not needed in this fight, but it was insurance in case my opponent used magic monsters, because they would take damage from attacking me as well. This way, I could try to outlast my opponent. Sometimes just focusing on defense is enough to win the match, and this was the case in this fight.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
