Hello everyone my otaku friends, I hope you are doing great, great community of The Anime Realm, this time I want to share my opinions about an anime that left me with mixed feelings, it was super popular last year, or well, within the community I saw that they talked about this series... and I decided to put it on my list, I finally saw it... and well, today I will give you my honest opinions about: ATRI and what a bittersweet journey I took. Put it in this context: a post-apocalyptic world where the sea rose a lot and changed civilization, it is something really sad, in this dark and flooded future, the story starts with Natsuki, a boy who has lost everything and who has a very complicated past.. everything has happened to him in life, more than it should, and he had almost thrown in the towel... until everything takes a turn with an encounter that he did not expect at all...

In the ruins, Natsuki stumbles upon a mysterious robot girl named Atri, who was lying there like a forgotten secret... the moment he turns her on is not just a thing of destiny, but the spark that ignites a journey that neither of them imagined, from the first chapter, the series plants a giant question: can a robot truly feel emotions like a human? And that's where Atri comes in... with his cheerful, caring and sometimes somewhat innocent personality, he's not the typical cold and emotionless machine, on the contrary, he radiates a warmth so real that both Natsuki and us, those of us who are watching, start to think about what it really means to be alive.

I was left thinking a lot: if something made of wires and metal can show kindness and empathy, where is the line between artificial and human? It's a question that stays in your head even after the chapters are over... and speaking of Natsuki, his change throughout the series is one of the best. At first, he's a boy trapped in depression, carrying the weight of having lost so much: his family, part of his own body... every step he takes seems to be just to remind him of everything he no longer has, but then Atri appears. It's like just being there starts to fix something inside him... little by little, we see him peeling off the layers of suffering and finding a reason to keep going, here comes the good part: Atri isn't just there to save him... over time, she changes too thanks to what she experiences with Natsuki. What they have isn't just one-sided; it's a real exchange that shows you how strong the connections between people are, even when one of the parties isn't completely human.

Hola a todos amigos otakus, espero que estén súper bien, gran comunidad de The Anime Realm, en esta ocasión les quiero compartir mis opiniones sobre un anime, que me dejó sentimientos encontrados, fue súper popular el año pasado, o bueno, dentro de la comunidad ví que hablaron sobre esta serie.. y decidí ponerla en mi lista, por fin la vi.. y bueno, hoy les daré mis opiniones honestas de: ATRI y qué viaje tan agridulce recorrí. Pónganse en este contexto: un mundo postapocalíptico donde el mar se subió muchísimo y cambió la civilización, es algo realmente triste, en este futuro oscuro y todo inundado, arranca la historia con Natsuki, un muchacho que ha perdido de todo y que tiene un pasado bien complicado.. le ha pasado de todo en la vida, más de lo que debería, y ya casi que había tirado la toalla... hasta que todo da un giro con un encuentro que no se esperaba para nada..

En las ruinas, Natsuki se topa con una chica robot misteriosa llamada Atri, que estaba ahí botada como un secreto olvidado.. el momento en que la prende no es solo una cosa del destino, sino la chispa que prende un viaje que ninguno de los dos se imaginaba, desde el primer capítulo, la serie te planta una pregunta gigante: ¿puede un robot sentir emociones de verdad como un humano? Y ahí entra Atri.. con su personalidad alegre, cariñosa y a veces medio inocentona, no es la típica máquina fría y sin sentimientos, al contrario, irradia una calidez tan real que tanto Natsuki como nosotros, los que estamos viendo, nos ponemos a pensar qué significa realmente estar vivo.

Yo me quedé pensando un montón: si algo hecho de cables y metal puede mostrar bondad y empatía, ¿dónde queda la raya entre lo artificial y lo humano? es una pregunta que te queda dando vueltas en la cabeza incluso después de que se acaban los capítulos.. y hablando de Natsuki, su cambio a lo largo de la serie es de lo mejorcito. Al principio, es un muchacho atrapado en la depresión, cargando con el peso de haber perdido tanto: a su familia, parte de su propio cuerpo… cada paso que da parece ser solo para recordarle todo lo que ya no tiene, pero ahí aparece Atri. Es como si con solo estar ahí empezara a arreglar algo dentro de él.. de a poquito, lo vemos sacándose las capas de sufrimiento y encontrando una razón para seguir adelante, aquí viene lo bueno: Atri no está solo para salvarlo a él.. con el tiempo, ella también cambia gracias a lo que vive con Natsuki. Lo que tienen no es solo de un lado; es un intercambio real que te muestra lo fuerte que son las conexiones entre personas, incluso cuando una de las partes no es completamente humana.

The atmosphere, the city... it's almost like another character... think about a world where the cities are under water, where what's left of civilization comes out of the murky water, as if they were ghosts from a long gone past, there's something strange but at the same time beautiful about how nature is taking over what humans built... the flooded ruins and the silence of the abandoned towns create an atmosphere that reflects how the characters feel inside. I was blown away by how well the animation captured both the depression and the strange beauty of this world, it makes you think about how one keeps going even when everything is going to hell.

Now, I have to be very honest about what made me see this anime with different eyes.. in the second half, the vibe suddenly changes and they throw in the beginning of a romance between Natsuki and Atri, this is where the series started to fail me, I have never liked those romances with characters that look like girls or the typical lolis, and even worse when they put them in situations that sexualize them, there are scenes, dialogues, that seemed super unnecessary to me, seeing how Atri is, this seemed problematic to me. Why did they do that? The story didn't need to go that way for the relationship between them to grow... that twist made me really uncomfortable and, for me, it sent a message that I didn't like at all... many will say "he's a robot" but no, sending that kind of message in Japan, which is such a p3d0f place... is simply absurd... and not only there, but well, the plot hooked me enough to keep watching it, I wanted to see how it ended, but I did have some uncomfortable moments, which I had to skip.

El ambiente, la ciudad.. es que es casi como otro personaje más.. pónganse a pensar en un mundo donde las ciudades están bajo el agua, donde lo que quedó de la civilización sale del agua turbia, como si fueran fantasmas de un pasado que se fue, hay algo como raro pero a la vez bonito en cómo la naturaleza se está apoderando de lo que los humanos construyeron.. las ruinas inundadas y el silencio de los pueblos abandonados crean un ambiente que refleja cómo se sienten los personajes por dentro. A mí me dejó loco lo bien que la animación capturó tanto la depre como la belleza extraña de este mundo, te pone a pensar en cómo uno sigue adelante, incluso cuando todo se está yendo al carajo..

Ahora, tengo que serles bien honesto sobre lo que me hizo ver a este anime con otros ojos.. en la segunda mitad, la onda cambia de repente y nos meten el comienzo de un romance entre Natsuki y Atri, aquí es donde la serie me empezó a fallar, a mí nunca me han gustado esos romances con personajes que parecen niñas o las típicas lolis, y peor aún cuando los ponen en situaciones que los sexualizan, hay escenas, diálogos, que me parecieron super innecesarios, viendo cómo es Atri, esto me pareció problemático. ¿Por qué hicieron eso? La historia no necesitaba irse por ese lado para que la relación entre ellos creciera.. ese giro me incomodó un montón y, para mí, manda un mensaje que no me gustó para nada.. muchos dirán "es un robot" pero no, mandar este tipo de mensajes en Japón, que es un lugar tan p3d0f.. es simplemente absurdo.. y no solo allá, pero bueno, la trama me enganchó lo suficiente para seguir viéndola, quería ver cómo terminaba, pero sí pasé algunos ratos incómodos, que tuve que adelantar.

Despite that stumble, ATRI also has good moments, the way it touches on topics like the meaning of life, how important relationships between people are and how one fights to survive in a world torn apart is truly touching... although yes, the world itself could have been more developed, the emotions that the series transmits are so strong that they keep you there... I liked how the story made me think about loss, hope and those little moments of happiness that can appear even in the worst moments. And the music deserves recognition, and it's brutal how it fits perfectly with each change of environment in the story... sometimes it's like cheerful and playful, showing Atri's crazy energy, and in others, it goes for melancholic melodies that make you feel Natsuki's internal struggle... there were moments in which I stopped everything just to listen to the music and let myself go, it certainly helped a lot to connect more with the characters and their world.

I had very high expectations for ATRI, the idea of ​​a world destroyed by water and a story that focuses on the relationship between a human and a robot seemed like the best to me... although the series does explore these themes in an interesting way... Natsuki's change is really touching: you see him go from being completely defeated to finding reasons to keep going, thanks to Atri, who arrived unexpectedly, but then, the story goes too far towards romance in a way that, for me, kind of betrays how deep it was at the beginning. There are also problems with the pacing, especially at the end... the world of ATRI, with such a cool idea and so much potential to explore in depth, feels like it wasn't fully taken advantage of, the story lets you see mysteries about why the sea level rose and about Natsuki's past, but they never explain them well. It reminded me of those adaptations where the original novel surely gives you a much more complete experience and that draws you in more. If you ask me, I think the novel probably does a better job of telling the story and developing the characters than the anime.

A pesar de ese tropezón, ATRI también tiene buenos momentos, la manera en que toca temas como el sentido de la vida, lo importante que son las relaciones entre personas y cómo se lucha para sobrevivir en un mundo hecho pedazos es de verdad que te llega al alma.. aunque sí, el mundo en sí podría haber estado más trabajado, las emociones que te transmite la serie son tan fuertes que te mantienen ahí.. me gustó cómo la historia me puso a pensar en la pérdida, en la esperanza y en esos pequeños momentos de felicidad que pueden aparecer hasta en los peores momentos. Y la música, se merece un reconocimiento, y es que es brutal cómo se acomoda perfecto a cada cambio de ambiente en la historia.. a veces es como alegre y juguetona, mostrando la energía alocada de Atri, y en otros, se va por melodías melancólicas que te hacen sentir la pelea interna de Natsuki.. hubo momentos en los que paré todo solo para escuchar la música y dejarme llevar, sin duda ayudó un montón a conectar más con los personajes y su mundo.

Yo le tenía unas expectativas altísimas a ATRI, la idea de un mundo destruido por el agua y una historia que se centra en la relación entre un humano y un robot me parecía lo máximo.. aunque la serie sí explora estos temas de manera interesante.. el cambio de Natsuki es de verdad conmovedor: lo ves pasar de estar completamente rendido a encontrar motivos para seguir adelante, gracias a Atri, que llegó sin esperarlo, pero después, la historia se va mucho para el lado del romance de una forma que, para mí, como que traiciona lo profundo que era al comienzo. También hay problemas con el ritmo, sobre todo al final.. el mundo de ATRI, con esa idea tan chévere y con tanto potencial para explorar a fondo, se siente como que no lo aprovecharon del todo, la historia te deja ver misterios sobre por qué subió el nivel del mar y sobre el pasado de Natsuki, pero nunca los explican bien. Me hizo acordar a esas adaptaciones donde la novela original seguro que te da una experiencia mucho más completa y que te atrapa más. Si me preguntan a mí, creo que la novela probablemente hace un mejor trabajo contando la historia y desarrollando los personajes que el anime.

For me, ATRI left me with mixed feelings. There were moments where the animation captured the sadness of that flooded world in an incredible way and how beautiful those moments between Natsuki and Atri were... but then, there were other parts where I felt that the story was going down weird paths, putting in cliché things that damaged the important questions about what it means to be human and what emotions are. It was like seeing a beautiful painting, but with an ugly scratch in the middle that damages the whole picture.

So, what do I think about ATRI at the end? Even though the series took risks and had some great moments, I can't play dumb about the things I didn't like... I'm going to give it a 6.5/10. The series has a world with a lot of potential, an interesting question that makes you think and characters that, although they aren't perfect, touch your heart... but the way they made it, especially in the second half and the ending that was very fast, left a lot to be desired... if you are one of those who read the visual novel, I'm sure this anime will seem like a simpler version of the story, for me, ATRI will stay in my memory as a story with very good ideas, but it never became everything it could be.

It made me think about loss, hope and what it means to feel and be human... but I also stayed wondering if by wanting to be liked by everyone, it ended up losing that which made it different, did you see it? What do you think of how they handle that balance between deep questions and romance? Despite the flaws, watching it was worth it, but it's not one of those that I'd blindly recommend without warning you about the problems... A mí ATRI me dejó con sensaciones encontradas, hubo momentos que la animación capturó de una manera increíble la tristeza de ese mundo inundado y lo bonitos que eran esos momenticos entre Natsuki y Atri.. pero luego, había otras partes donde sentía que la historia se iba por caminos raros, metiendo cosas clichés que dañaban las preguntas importantes sobre qué es ser humano y qué son las emociones, era como ver un cuadro precioso, pero con un rayón feo en medio que te daña todo el conjunto.

Entonces, ¿qué pienso al final de ATRI? A pesar de que la serie se arriesgó y tuvo momentos geniales, no puedo hacerme el loco con las cosas que no me gustaron.. le voy a dar un 6.5/10. La serie tiene un mundo con mucho potencial, una pregunta interesante que te hace pensar y personajes que, aunque no son perfectos, te llegan al corazón.. pero cómo la hicieron, sobre todo en la segunda mitad y en el final que fue muy rápido, dejó mucho que desear.. si eres de los que se leyó la novela visual, seguro que este anime te va a parecer como una versión más simple de la historia, para mí, ATRI se va a quedar en mi memoria como una historia con ideas muy buenas, pero que nunca llegó a ser todo lo que podía ser.

Me puso a pensar sobre la pérdida, la esperanza y qué significa sentir y ser humano.. pero también me quedé pensando si por querer gustarle a todo el mundo, terminó perdiendo eso que la hacía diferente, la vieron?¿Qué opinas de cómo manejan ese equilibrio entre las preguntas profundas y el romance? A pesar de las fallas, verla tuvo su valor, pero no es de esas que recomiendo a ciegas sin avisarles de los problemas.. Si puedes ignorar algunas cosas que no te gusten mucho, hay mucho que disfrutar en esta historia: desde cómo cambia Natsuki hasta la música brutal que lo acompaña todo.. y bueno, eso sería todo, espero que estén súper bien, nos veremos en las próximas reseñas, cuídense mucho!
