Hello everyone, both new and OG Splinterlands players, today I'd like to share a great new feature in the game: The Training Grounds. It is a free player -vs- bot service that lets you test your cards against different types of cards and difficulty levels so you can perfect your gameplay without losing rank or energy. As someone who's been playing the game since the beginning, I feel this is a great way for new and even older players to get better without risking anything. I wish I had this option when I was first playing the game.

Where are the Training Grounds?

If you are either in Wild or Modern Ranked Play you'll see the Training Grounds in the upper right-hand part of your screen under your user name.

Difficulty

The first option you have in the Training Grounds is how smart you want your AI bot opponent to be. You can choose Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulty levels.

Allowed Cards

There are four options on the kind of cards that you can train with. The first is All Cards this means that you can use both your Modern and Wild Cards. Modern is just Modern cards which include the two most recently released decks. Then there is my favorite, Ghost Cards. If you choose Ghost Cards, you get to see what it's like to be a whale because you can use any card in the game. And finally there is Ghost Modern which let's you play any Modern card in the game even if you don't own it.

Summoner Level Caps

Level caps don't apply to ranked game-play after Novice, but they do in tournaments and Brawls. You can choose Novice where all cards will only be at level one. Then there is Adept which caps your summoner at the Bronze level which is level 3 Common cards, level 2 Rare and Epic cards, and Legendaries at level 1. Then for Silver League there is Intermediate with Commons capped at level 5, Rares are at 4, Epics at 3, and Legendaries at level 2. If you choose Advanced you'll be at Gold level with Commons at level 8, Rares at 6, Epics at 5, and Legendaries at 3. And finally there is Expert level were everything is at MAX-level.

My Practice Battle

I wanted to win this practice battle so I set the difficlutly level to easy which is pretty unrealistic because anyone who has these OG cards at MAX-level will most likely know what they're doing, but sometimes people let their kids or friends play with their accounts. I wanted to be able to use any card at MAX-level so I chose Ghost Cards at Expert level. I had fun with this practice battle because I got use some great Beta cards I foolishly sold a long time ago. I feel that letting new players experience how amazing it is to use any card at MAX-level is a lot of fun and should help encourage them to level their cards up and get some well needed practice so I'm really happy to see the team ad the Training Grounds to our game.
