15th anniversary for our dear friends [Esp-Eng]

Ayer fue un día especial porque pudimos compartirlo con personas que son especiales para nosotros, en una fecha que significa muchísimo para ellos. Porque después de mucho trabajo en equipo, situaciones que superaron juntos y amor, sobre todo amor, cumplieron 15 años de haber tomado la decisión de formar una familia. Por cierto, una muy linda y llena de amor y respeto.

​Este día requirió al menos dos semanas de planificación; las hijas de nuestros amigos se encargaron de casi todo y ellas, pues, fueron quienes nos hicieron la invitación a formar parte de esta linda sorpresa. Con ellas planeamos qué podíamos llevar cada uno para compartir y también la hora exacta en la que íbamos a llegar para que ellos no nos consiguieran por el camino y pudiera ser una verdadera sorpresa.

Yesterday was a special day because we were able to share it with people who are special to us, on a date that means so much to them. Because after a lot of teamwork, situations they overcame together, and love, above all love, they celebrated 15 years since making the decision to start a family. A very beautiful family, full of love and respect, by the way.

This day required at least two weeks of planning; our friends' daughters took care of almost everything, and they were the ones who invited us to be part of this lovely surprise. We planned with them what each of us could bring to share and also the exact time we would arrive so that they wouldn't find us on the way and it could be a real surprise.

​Este momento fue muy bonito porque nuestros amigos nos contaron que era la primera vez que recibían una sorpresa de aniversario en estos 15 años, así que ya se imaginarán que cuando la recibieron hubo sentimientos fuertes y, por supuesto, lágrimas; pero estas siempre fueron de felicidad. Al llegar no tenían ni idea de lo que iba a pasar, así que cuando todos gritamos “sorpresa”, los asustamos un poquito.

​Aunque no éramos muchos los que estuvimos presentes, sé que la noche fue demasiado especial para ellos porque los que estábamos los queremos muchísimo. Durante la noche escuchamos música, algunos bailaron, también jugamos juegos de mesa y otros juegos divertidos en pareja. Y esto me encantó, porque fue una fiesta diferente en la que disfrutamos de varias actividades, más allá de solo comer y bailar.

This moment was very special because our friends told us that it was the first time they had received an anniversary surprise in 15 years, so you can imagine that when they received it, there were strong emotions and, of course, tears, but these were always tears of happiness. When they arrived, they had no idea what was going to happen, so when we all shouted "surprise," we scared them a little.

Although there weren't many of us present, I know that the night was very special for them because those of us who were there love them very much. During the night, we listened to music, some danced, and we also played board games and other fun games in pairs. I loved this because it was a different kind of party where we enjoyed various activities beyond just eating and dancing.

​La noche fue súper divertida y lo mejor de todo es que nuestros amigos estaban muy contentos con esa linda sorpresa que organizaron sus queridas hijas. Ellos la pasaron muy bien, estaban sonriendo todo el tiempo y se tomaron también el tiempo para conversar con cada uno de los que estaban presentes; y me parece muy lindo que a cada quien, por su parte, le dieran las gracias por estar ahí y por ese lindo detalle que recibieron.

​Para mí, el poder ver que derramaron lágrimas genuinas y que se sorprendieron tanto con vernos a todos hizo que valiera totalmente la pena haber dedicado tanto tiempo a preparar algo rico para llevar; pero, por otro lado, también fui feliz de haber sido tomada en cuenta para formar parte de ese pequeño grupo de amigos que estuvieron presentes en ese día tan lindo y especial para nuestros amigos.

The evening was extremely enjoyable, and best of all, our friends were delighted with the lovely surprise organized by their beloved daughters. They had a wonderful time, smiling the entire evening and taking the time to chat with each of the guests. I thought it was very thoughtful of them to thank everyone for being there and for the lovely gift they received.

For me, seeing them shed genuine tears and being so surprised to see us all made it totally worth spending so much time preparing something delicious to bring. But I was also happy to have been included in that small group of friends who were present on such a beautiful and special day for our friends.

​Por otro lado, aprendí algo también valioso y fue que no importa si algo es sencillo, si tú ves a tus amigos reunidos en un lugar, felices por lo que para ti es algo tan especial, eso ya hace que tu día sea increíble. No importa quién sea, tener amigos cerca para celebrar contigo es el mejor regalo que alguien puede darte.

On the other hand, I learned something equally valuable: it doesn't matter if something is simple, if you see your friends gathered in one place, happy about something that is so special to you, that alone makes your day incredible. No matter who they are, having friends around to celebrate with you is the best gift anyone can give you.
