Sundate with my Family: Moments of Family Togetherness

Hi there everyone, it’s Rhea, again. Today I want to share a memorable experience for me, which is the Sunday date with my family.
As we all know, Sunday is a family day and it is a special day that happens once a week, especially it’s the best when we are not busy with our works and studies. To refresh our minds and throw some negative energy, one Sunday afternoon, Me and my parents decided to get fresh Buko in our backyard and to make lamaw. Lamaw is a Buko juice with condensed milk and crushed plain biscuit (crushed plain biscuit is optional). My cousin climbed up at the coconut tree to get fresh buko’s and dropped them on the ground. Some of the coconuts were shattered because it got landed on a sharp rock.
While my cousin is busy getting Buko on the top, me and my mother are patiently waiting for it. My mother prepared a container for the Buko juice and some spoons to scoop the meat out of the coconut.
After waiting for 10 minutes, my cousin climbed down immediately, picked up the Buko, and gave it to my father. My father broke the coconut and put the fresh juices in the container.
My brother is also busy scraping the meat and putting it in the container also. I also helped my brother scrape them. While I was scraping the meat, I then got thirsty and asked my father if I could drink a little bit; my father laughed and handed me the juice. It was yummy and so refreshing because it was very hot outside.
My lola gave us a plain biscuit and she told us to put it in the juice to make it more sweet and yummy. My mother immediately crushed the biscuits and put it on the container. She then mixed them well and told me to put 2 cans of condensed milk and also ice to let it cold. At first I thought it would taste really sweet, but it turned out to be just average.
We mixed them well and immediately devoured them.
As we drink and eat the rest, we talk about different things about the surroundings. I realized that it was so much fun spending time with my family. As it can strengthen our bond and have a deeper connection.
