Campus Craft Day

Hello, my dear Hivers!
In today’s blog is actually a continuation of my previous post!
After my sister and I had our snacks at Worthy Spot, we headed back to the school campus. Some of the officers were already messaging us, asking where we were and reminding us that the cutting and other preparations were about to start.
When we arrived, a few of them were already busy doing different tasks , you could really feel the teamwork in the air. My sister and I went straight to help with the cutting of shapes for our decorations. The theme for our design was “Squid Game”, so we had to make various shapes in different colors , circles, squares, triangles, and umbrellas!

We used cartoons instead of folders so the materials wouldn’t look too thin or wrinkly. As officers, we all had separate tasks , some were assigned to buy materials, while others were marking and tracing the shapes to serve as guides for cutting.

A few minutes later, we already had several cutouts done , but we didn’t really have a set target yet for how many shapes to make since we were still starting. As we got busy cutting I noticed that no one was assigned to handle the double-sided tapes, so I volunteered to do it myself. I started cutting strips ahead of time so everyone could just grab what they needed anytime.

Once all the materials were okay , our main responsibility was the cutting and attaching of these shapes using colored cartolinas and double-sided tape. It was a bit tedious, but also fun since everyone was chatting and laughing while working.

Aside from the shapes, we also worked on cutting crepe papers for confetti to be used during the opening of classes. Since we cut them in bunches, we later had to separate and sort them by color. I folded the crepe papers first before cutting them straight through so they’d be even and easier to manage , and honestly, it was satisfying to see the pile grow!

While some of us were cutting shapes and confetti, others were busy cutting out letters for the main signage. While my eyes roamed around, I couldn’t help but smile , everything looked so colorful and lively, especially when all the shapes and colors were placed together.

Then, something caught my eye. When I turned around, I noticed someone working on what looked like a doll figure, and that’s when it hit me , it was inspired by Young-hee, the giant animatronic doll from Squid Game! For those who haven’t watched it, Young-hee is the motion-sensing robot in the first deadly game, “Red Light, Green Light,” who detects and eliminates players who move while she’s facing away. Seeing it in real life , even just a paper version , gave me both chills and excitement!
And that wraps up today’s blog, my dear Hivers! It may have been a busy day filled with cutting, taping, and preparing, but it was also a day full of teamwork, laughter, and creativity. I really enjoyed every bit of it , and I can’t wait to share what happened next in my next post! Stay tuned!
