No reason to snatch the freedom of wild animals

The zoo is a place we love to visit for entertainment purposes. It can be entertaining for us, especially for children, to see various kinds of animals. It is such a place where we can see many wild animals, which is hard for us to see in the wild because those animals can be dangerous and life-threatening if we want to see them in wild areas. We may lose our life and can become the food of those dangerous animals.

As there are many animals in a zoo, people love to go there to know about different kinds of animals. Some can be known animals, and some can be unknown. Seeing an animal on screen and seeing an animal with a physical appearance both have huge differences in understanding. Moreover, we can see some new animals in a zoo that can be unknown to us. From the financial perspective, zoos can be important also, but is it ok to snatch the freedom of animals for entertainment purposes?

It says that wild animals are beautiful in the wild and it's the right place for them. Those animals can learn how to search for food and how to catch their prey. Those animals know how to survive in the critical situation. Survival skill is very important for the animals; otherwise, the animals will struggle a lot for it. We can take the example of Lion. A wild lion in the forest is called the king of the forest because the lion has the ability to catch the prey and knows how to survive well. The lion can rule the forest, and in the lion's territory nobody can mess with the lion. In the case of a caged lion in the zoo, it's not so brave as a wild lion. A caged lion doesn't need to search for food, as the lion gets readymade food to eat. Such a thing may affect their surviving skill, and I think compared to the wild lion, it's nothing. In my opinion, I feel a wild cat can be more aggressive and more capable than a caged lion. If the wide lion is the king, then the caged lion is not even a wild cat. From this perspective, I don't think it's wise to cage animals in a zoo.

Another thing is freedom. Freedom is such a thing for which every creature struggles; even we humans also struggle for it. Every creature has the birthrightto live their life with freedom, and from the ethical perspective, we should respect the life of every creature and give them the freedom to decide how to survive their life as long as they are not threatening the humans. Every creature has a role to play, and wildlife is the best for them. Snatching their freedom cannot be compared to anything even if a lot of facilities are given in a cage. It's like a free bird can never be happy in a cage. That's the same for wildlife animals. So I don't support keeping animals in the zoo from the normal perspective.

But some zoos are only made for conserving those creatures that are about to become extinct. Such a thing occurs when those animals are facing difficulties in the wild or they are disturbed by some factor, and that leads the animals to extinction. To protect from extinction, those animals need special care and facilities, and a zoo can be the best place for conservation. The zoo can provide them a suitable environment to grow better and not become extinct. In such a condition, I think it's okay to keep those animals in a zoo, but safety should be ensured.
